What venue did you decide on and do you have a theme?

Just curious where everyone is having their wedding. :)

OSU Faculty Club for me. 1930s inspired theme.

We are at Pinnacle Golf Club for the ceremony and reception. No theme per say, but we are just going for a natural look with natural colors, flowers, and products!

gcb- We are at Pinnacle too! not really having a theme other than our table names/favors. We are doing Architects and Authors (fi is an architect and I was an english major) for our table names and our escort cards will be somehow related, like bookmarks with vintage blue print designs on them. Other than that... lots of pretty flowers, and elegant touches here and there.

The Ohio Union.  We don't have a theme per se, just going for a traditional wedding.  I like to call it "Classical Elegance with a Modern Touch." Yep, I'm that much of a dork.
We will have some subtle hints of OSU//Maryland.  Thank goodness both colors are red, or I'd be SOL!

wow these are fun to hear about.
kelly, i LOVE your theme and am seriously considering it.

since bf and i bought the ring last weekend i've been crazy about looking for inspiration and looking at venues online. i need to chill haha.

my current favorites are quite dichotomous.
    1. 1940s hollywood glam (b/c bf and i watch old b&w movies allll the time) - probably go this route if we pick a vintage venue
    or
    2. quirky city kids (because our apt is covered in ikea and industrial stuff) - probably go this route if we pick a modern or urban venue

Savannah have you looked at any venues yet?

The Faculty Club is perfect for 1930s, which of course is when it was built.
North Bank or Smith Brothers would be great for the indutrial theme. I would be shocked if all these places aren't already booked 10/22/11 (I know the Faculty Club definitely is since that's when my wedding is, lol).

We are having ours at the Makoy Center in Hilliard and it is a beachy tropical theme.  I don't know how well our venue goes with our theme but there is a pond behing the building lol!

Ours is at Heritage Golf Club in Hilliard and our "theme" is 40s Hollywood Glam.  Our colors are black, white, and soft pink and we want something classic and elegant, but it won't be over the top.

We are getting married at my church, but our reception is at little turtle golf club. We do not have a theme.... I guess just "wedding" haha. I hope that my dress pulls off the elegant look I adore, and I'm hoping the flowers and decor at the reception will look very soft and romantic. I guess time will tell haha...:-)

Our venue is Friendship Park in my hometown of Smithfield Ohio.  The ceremony is outdoors and the reception is indoors.  The theme is Fairytale Princess.  It's a nod to my two older sisters who though out my childhood would often refer to me as "Princess Terra" LOL.  Everything is Pink, Platinum, Pewter and full of tule and bling.  It's like something straight out of Disney LOL.

We are getting married at the Makoy Center in Hillard. We don't really have a theme. But the colors are blue, yellow, and cream. And I LOVE CALLA LILIES so I will have calla lilies as my bouquet and the centerpieces.

We are 90% sure we are booking with Little Turtle Golf Club in Westerville.  We don't really have a theme yet.  I'm not that creative.  All I am thinking is fun/semi-casual, non-stuffy.

Ms.Owl- Some things we have incorporated so far: our table numbers will be pictures of places FI and I went to in Paris/France that stand on little easels (trying to play up the whole art/Louvre impression with that), our escort cards are luggage tags, we are debating about hanging them on mini Eiffel Towers (basically we will see if we have enough money in the budget), our card box is a keepsake box that looks like a suitcase that has Paris pictures and words on it.  That's about it that we have planned now, but I guess I should be thinking about it more since it seems like all I have left is small details and am running out of time. If you have any more ideas, I would love to hear them.

we are at the Capital Club downtown.  it's a beautiful, clean, classic venue.  11-11-11 in the evening.  black, gold, and dark red are the colors with more feathers than flowers for the decor.  found a lady on etsy to do our custom invites so it will be black print on gold cardstock with columbus skyline.  i'm so excited fellow bride-eees!!  loved hearing your ideas!

We had ours at Creekside and didn't necessarily have a theme. We used our personal styles (mine's modern, his is traditional), spring, colors (Graphite accented by Tiffany Blue//aqua and white), and cultural traditions (my mom was born in Italy and his dad is from Iran) and melded everything together to make it ours.

We are getting married at The Valley Dale Ballroom, and our theme is 1940's vintage glam.  We are getting married 12/17/11 so we wanted our colors to cordinate with the Christmas decorations there without having a Christmasy wedding...so our colors are gold with white and black accents.

We got married outside at Bent Tree Golf Club, and then had the reception indoors there.  We were going for a summery, carefree, colorful vibe.  Our colors were light yellow and dark pink, and we had a fun paisley print as well.  Our centerpieces also featured lemons.

For our centerpieces we will have different apothecary jars with moss /pheasant feathers/ birds nests/ aqua birds eggs/ and aqua table numbers inside :) I cant wait for it to all come together!
