5:30 wedding - afternoon or evening?

Our wedding will begin at 5:30. On the invitations should it be "five thirty in the afternoon" or "five thirty in the evening"? I always thought evening was considered after six, but afternoon sounds weird to me!

I would just put:
half after five o’clock

In my opinion you don't need to write "afternoon" or "evening" since the time dictates the formality and "feel of the wedding"

"after" is more appropriate than "past" as past is used for funerals & refers to the deceased. As for afternoon/evening. . . personally, that's one thing I'm NOT a stickler on.
