I want to be relatively informal on the placecards... so I am not doing Mr. and Mrs. Doe, but John and Jane Doe. What do I do when someone always goes by a nickname (ie. Steve instead of Steven, Bob instead of Robert). Do I write Bob and Suzy Jones, or Robert and Suzanne Jones?

Well most halls do it by last name, so your guests will know to look for that. I would think the nicknames are fine. Only problem would be if there was a both a bob and robert jones....

If you're leaving off the Mr./ Mrs. I'd think you might as well use nicknames to go with the more casual theme

I just kept it at what I used for the invitations because all I had to do was copy and paste from my spreadsheet

I guess I'm no help lol
