when to do hair/makeup trials

I currently have mine scheduled 2 months out, but the wedding is also out-of-state from where I live, so I am not there often. Its not a terribly far drive (4 1/2 hours) & I will be there frequently in the next 3 months, but I am starting to think that 2 months is too much time in between. 

Thoughts?

    The salon I went to adviced me to do it a month out... so I am going to book my appoitment for October. I want it to correspond with my bridal shower so I won't know the exact date until my BM's tell me when the shower is.
