RI Area DJ's

I'm looking for suggestions about RI's best DJ's. A few words about our style: We want a real blend of music (everything from Franki Valli and Frank Sinatra to CCR and Queen to Lady Gaga), and we are looking for a great DJ who can blend into the event. We went to a friend's wedding in July who booked Matty B-- this type of DJ is the complete *opposite of what we want*, so...any suggestions?

Thanks ladies!!

  • If you take a look at the stickies at the top of the page, you will see a Knottie Booked Vendor list, where we have all listed our vendors.

I am going with All4You DJ out of Warren. We really like them. Great married couple who do the event together. We also interviewed with Luke's DJ, and I have heard numeous great things about PartyTime with Victor, but he's kind of pricy - not sure of your budget.

  • A budget would help because Dj's can be all over the place.
Two people that fit your criteria

Our own DJ who is Victor at Victor Events (formally Partytime) who is on the higher end.

and DJ Dave Anthony (lower end)
Dave is never mentioned on this board, and that is because he is the DJ that is used by Ormonde productions. However, you can book Dave directly- and save yourself the mark up that Tony Ormonde charges and still have the great DJ. He does it part time wich is the only reason we didn't book him- but it doesn't make him any less skilled or talented. We just wanted to hire someone that this was their full time career.

  • We hired Music Mixxers DJs out of East Greenwich. I met them at a Bridal Expo and they're really down to earth guys. Seann did our reception. We talked a few days before about music styles and we played everything and he flowed with what the crowd liked. I requested that dinner be softer music but from all genres, so he played The Beatles, Norah Jones, Buble, etc. etc. When it came time to dance it was more pop music like I asked for, but the slow songs he through in some oldies to keep everyone happy. We were SO pleased. The best part - he was really inexpensive - $1100! WAY cheaper than Victor that was mentioned above. I spoke with him too, and the price was just too out there for me.

  • We are getting married in Maine so we chose a DJ local to that area, however, I was really impressed with a DJ we saw at a friend's wedding. The company was called Sound Force Unlimited. He was a great emcee in addition to always having the dance floor hopping and playing a great mix of styles. I have no idea what he charges.
  • We went with DJ Victor from Victor Events (formerly Partytime).  He is pricey but you definitely get what you pay for with him.  Music was very important to us so we went with the high end guy that we clicked with automatically.

  • I'm a Victor bride and I cannot say enough good things about him.  From the moment we met with him, H and I knew that we would book him.  We clicked with him instantly and he completely got what we wanted for our wedding (one big party!).  He is extremely thorough and will say as much or as little as you want during the reception.  Our guests are still talking about what a great time they had at our wedding.  Entertainment was extremely important to us, so we were willing to pay for quality.

I found The Zeal DJ Network from several search engines on the internet
including a web site called the wedding channel ?
We hired them for our wedding .
Price ranges for most  Dj's are $300 to $2000
Based on my own past experience you are better off hiring a
Full time Rhode Island  DJ service .
Zeal DJ is certainly a great choice to consider .
Regarding their overall style ,,I feel they land right in the middle
using a blend and balance of true classic wedding tradtion while conforming
    to your expectations
They are highly rated as a wedding New England  dj service and very affodable ..
The hiring terms was very easy and we loved our DJ !

  • I am a Victor Bride as well and he blew our socks off within the first 15 minuites of our meeting.  I have seen him in his element at another wedding and can say that he is at the top of his game.  Professional, fun, creative extremely talented and worth every penny. We cannot wait to see what he has in store for our big day.
