Was just wondering if anyone is doing a groomscake? IF so what is everyone doing? Im doing my FI fire helmet w badge!! This is prettymuch what it looks like!!

I am planning to do one, probable something NY Giants, maybe a helmet? One of my BMs moms' makes awesome cakes and she loves my FI (he and BMs husband have been friends forever) she does it as a hobby but it getting a bit of a calling going, she's done some kind of crazy theme cake for all our groups get togethers recently.

I am definitely doing one. He is getting The Stig from Top Gear. It's going to be confetti cake because that's his favorite. I'm having it put in a box for him to open with a tag that will give him a hint of what it is. I almost think it's too fun not to do!

I was going to do one but then we went to a wedding where they did and FI adv that he thinks they are a waste of money and unnecessary so now not bothering.

FH is totally in charge of picking out the wedding cake so he doens't need his own. I am not a big fan of cake in general. I'm getting chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

We went to a friend's birthday party this past weekend and his wife made him a hamburger cake:

Dan LOVED the cake and I told him he could have one for the grooms cake. We're pretty good friends with the girl who made it (her husband aka the guy whose birthday it was is one of Dan's groomsmen), so I think we might ask her to do it. I wish I had that kind of talent and time, and i'd definitely be willing to try, but I know right around the wedding I just won't have time.

this might be dumb, but do you have a separate table for the grooms cake? when does that get cut/eaten?

I like both of these, but wont be doing anything that large... one, two tiers at the most. His favorite flavor is lemon, so it will be lemon with lemon buttercream covered in fondant. I have a cousin who is a fantastic cake maker and am going to ask her if I can pay her to do it. the bakery thats making my cake is 7.25 a slice... so they will be really expensive... (we arent paying that, its included in our catering cost)

I'm getting one. FI doesn't know. He said he doesn't want one, but he doesn't even know what they are. He is very clueless about weddings.

I'm debating between something Apple related (like maybe a Genius logo since he is/was one) or meteor shower related (a throwback to our first date).

It will be a total surprise to him.

<div>I have heard of doing it a few different ways, some have it at the rehearsal dinner and if you have it at the wedding it is usually on a different table I believe.</div>

We are doing one...my FI and his whole family are huge hunters and I saw this really cute cake for him and showd it to him and he loved it.

Not sure whether we are having the person who does our wedding cake do it or my freind I guess it all depends if we have it at rehersal dinner or the actual wedding and price.

Yep! I am doing one for him, but it is a surprise as well! He has been quite the sassypants about having a Nascar theme for our wedding. It has been a long ongoing joke since before we were engaged! Now don't get me wrong I do like to watch it sometimes, but not for a wedding theme! So I decied to have a cake done for him with Tony Stewarts car...it should be funny seeing his reaction.

No groom's cake for us. I'm sure FI would appreciate one, but there is zero room in the budget as we decided to expand the guest list to make his family happy.

We are doing a grooms cake. My MOH does some cake decorating and she offered to do the cake for us. FI loves cakes with banana filling, so we're doing a Minnesota Vikings grooms cake for him. Nothing too fancy because my MOH has enough to worry about before the wedding, but she seems really excited to do it. No ideas on the design or anything yet.

Our grooms cake isnt a surprise, because I absolutely stink at keeping surprises
