Dress ideas

I need some ideas for a wedding dress.  We are having just our children at the ceremony and getting married outside in May.  But I have zero idea on what to wear.  He is just wearing a pair of dress pants and a dress shirt.

Any ideas?  Any pictures?

I am about a size 16 so not a little lady and I am almost 40

Nordstroms, Macy's, Carson's - any of those higher end stores should have something.  Nord's has a bridal salon, and they have so many pretty cocktail type dresses.  I'd start there and then branch off if you don't find something.  I ended up finding mine (it was not a bridal gown) in a small boutique in Florida while I was visiting my mother.

I wanted a simple tea-length dress. I found one at the bridal store that was a bridesmaid's dress but ordered it in ivory.

Whatever you buy, make sure you find something that makes you feel pretty on your special day! Happy shopping!

I wear a size 16 (or 14, depending on the day) and am almost 50 (not sure if that means anything other than "no mini dress").  Here's my dress, which I purchased at Nordstrom:

    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/11/4/ab07ce4a-c42d-4f06-8472-ff9d20f34259.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" onclick="return gSiteLife.LoadForumPage('ForumImage', 'plckPhotoId', 'ab07ce4a-c42d-4f06-8472-ff9d20f34259', 'plckRedirectUrl', gSiteLife.EscapeValue(window.location.href));" class="PhotoLink"><img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/11/4/ab07ce4a-c42d-4f06-8472-ff9d20f34259.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>

My dress is floor length, so it would likely be too much paired with groom in shirt and pants.  Accentuate your best assets.  I have great shoulders, upper back, neck and arms, so sleeveless v-neck is perfect for me.

Keep an open mind and don't limit yourself to bridal stores/styles.  Good luck!

I second the Davids Bridal suggestion.  I am also a plus size and appreciate that they have samples in Plus sizes!

Unfortunately I am in Canada and we don't have any of those stores.
