Pike's Market Flowers

Flowers are pretty low on my priority list - I want to do flowers for wedding party and parents only and maybe a flower floating in a glass vase with a floating candle as a centerpiece.  Think I can pull it off with flowers from the market instead of a full-on florist?  Hoping this is one area I can save some $$.

    For sure! When is your wedding?

    I think another knottie got her flowers from the market for her wedding last year. Just don't remember who :o)

    We're planning on doing this for our rehearsal dinner. As long as you're not overly picky on colors and types I think it might work out great? At least, the way we're going about it, we're just going to pick up whatever is fresh that day. :)

    I agree that as long as you aren't picky, this could work out perfectly for you. Also, you may go to the market and chat with a few of the vendors if you can. They may be able to help you out by setting a few aside for you or talking about what is likely to be available.

    My friend got her flowers from a marketplace last summer that came from a snohomish farm. Keep in mind that some flowers when picked last longer than others. She had Dahlias and unfortunately they all wilted the day of the wedding despite having them in water after we created bouquets with them the day before. Her sister also bought flowers from a marketplace that summer but purchased a small batch of roses which kept up a lot longer than the dahlias did.
