Vineyard Weddings

The board is slowing down again...

How is everyone doing?  How is the planning coming along?   Is anyone rounding the final turn and counting the days instead of months or weeks?
Has anyone come across any new wine/vineyard ideas or decor?
I am pretty close to finishing my wine bottle centerpieces and will be posting pics as soon as I can get some good ones.  Next up is the wine corks that I will be using as place cards... I just have to find a nice calligraphy pen/marker to use (I will be writing a name on each wine cork... tedious!!!)
What is everyone up to these days?

  • Hi, I have seen your posts from time to time and I realized we may be bride twins lol. I am planning a wedding in Western NY with the colors purple and silver and its wine themed. Just want to say hi lol
  • Awesome!  When is your wedding and what is the venue?  Have you checked out the Central New York board?  There are some really sweet girls on there and we try to get together from time to time to keep each other sane.
    So excited to meet another!!!

  • My wedding is March 5th, we had originally planned on a no-theme wedding and the wine thing just fell in our laps. We love wine and decided to paint wine glasses as our favor, than decided since we have all these bottles lying around why not utilize them for centerpieces to save money and the wine theme was born lol. The wedding is in West Seneca, no themed venue. I usually check out the WNY boards, but maybe I'll pop into the Central one.

  • So cool.  We absolutely love the Finger Lakes and got engaged at a winery... I coudn't imagine the day anywhere else.  We are also using wine bottles for centerpieces and other random decorations.  I would love to take a peek at what yours look like.  I am always up for new ideas.  I have been trying to take pics of mine, but I just can't find the time lately.
March?  Wow... so you are under the 6 month mark... so exciting.  I pop in on the Western NY board from time to time b/c our reception is at Glenora and I am always checking out vendor reviews and such, but I mainly stay on CNY... a lot more active and friendlier... maybe' we'll recruit ya over there!
    Have a great weekend!

  • Yeah well we got engaged in July so we only had 8 months to begin with lol. Here are some pics of centerpiece ideas, nothing concrete at this point.

This is filled with aqua beads bought from the dollar tree

fake flowers in water ( I don't like these flowers but I do like the concept)

    FI's favorite bottle, grapes

And my favorite, tree branches (some painted with white and glitter)
  • I love them!!!  I really like the one with the grapes in it... how the heck did yuo get them in there?  Really cool!  Thank you for sharing... I will post mine when I get pics.

  • I lovee you idea as well... I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to incorporate wine bottles into a centerpiece... keep the ideas coming :)

I love the finger lakes as well... even though we aren't getting married at one of the wineries ... Our theme is centered around wineries from Keuka and Seneca lake :)

Thanks, the grapes are from the dollar tree and are really soft. It took a while to get them in there and I lost a few in the process (that's why they're at the bottom of the bottle) but I liked that anyways lol. It's a bit of work so I'm not so sure if I want to use this idea. I'm also doing hand-painted wine glasses as the favor.

    Gotta support the local teams!

As you can see we have no theme to these glasses, we're just having a ton of fun with them.
  • Wow great ideas! I wish I was more creative!!! My Fi and I are getting married at a winery east of Sacramento, CA in May 2012.

    Winery ideas:

Wine corks for place cards... we are doing

I am still looking for the 3 nesting barrels to use a a card holder, as my order was cancelled.

I read in Brides magazine, there is a "wine Ceremony" that can be done at thewedding ceremony, but opted not to do it.
  • HI fellow Western NYers! My June 18th wedding is in Rochester. I LOVE the Finger Lakes wineries - we looked at a bunch toward Seneca, but it was more convenient to do it in Rochester.
