Signature Bridal - alterations?

Hello. I know quite a few of you on here bought your dress at Signature Bridal, and I was wondering if you all used their in-house seamstress? I got my dress there and although my dress isn't in yet I know it will need some alterations--taking in at the bust, bustle added, etc. I am on a tight budget and I live pretty far away from Signature Bridal, so I was thinking that to save money and time I would just take it to an independent seamstress that's closer to me.

But if you have used their in-house person, are the rates reasonable? Did she do good work? Was it fast? I might have it done there if it's more convenient, but I just want to know what my options are.

    I'm also curious about everyone's answer to this.  I figure I'll only need the bustle done, but I've been assuming they'd be super overpriced.  Love the staff there though.

    I would like to know the answer too! My dress and all my bridesmaids dresses came from Signature. I know I will need at least the bustle as well, possibly some others. When they told us the general costs...I remember thinking it didn't sound that expensive...but I don't know.

    The few reviews I have found of the seamstress are all very positive....

    For some reason I am thinking the in-house alterations will be super overpriced too, though I too loved the staff there! I don't know what exactly is making me think that.

    I am updating this thread, just in case anyone happens to be searching through old posts and is interested in the answer to this question! I had my first fitting this past weekend with Barbara, the woman who does alterations for Signature Bridal. She is absolutely wonderful! She is a very nice person, very easy to talk to and down to earth. She helped me pick which shoes to wear with my dress and chatted with me the whole time during the fitting.

    Not only that, but she doesn't try to convince you to make alterations that you don't need to make. I thought my dress would definitely need to be taken in at the bust, but since it has a corset back, she just pulled the corset tight and it actually fit perfectly. All I am having done is a bustle, and she even recommended the cheaper bustle (over-bustle vs. under-bustle, or whatever it's called) just because it seemed to go better with the overall look of the dress. The charge for the bustle was only $35, and her prices seem very reasonable and fair. I wouldn't hesitate to get her to do your alterations, if you've bought your dress at Signature Bridal. I loved her.
