So I've been engaged for a little over 2 1/2 months and people will ask me so have you started thinking about what you would like and they are always shocked by my response. My response is "If I had the money right now I could plan my wedding for next week." Am I the only one that has pretty much every little detailed planned out even though I'm not getting married till October 2012?

    You are not the only one. :)  I've been engaged since March and I wish I could get married tomorrow!  I know how I want the ceremony/reception to go and I know what flowers I want, etc.  The only thing I can't seem to picture are the inviations.  I'm not ordering anything yet (just in case my ideas change) but I can't wait to start booking!!!

    I have every last detail figured out with what my FI and i want for our wedding and we already booked our reception and ceremony site before July was over, and we got engaged on July 4th and our wedding in Oct. 2011.  People are telling me im nuts and "what if i change my mind", I'm not worried about it , and if you start looking around you'll find October is a prime months so locations are going to go fast.  my location only had one room left for the day we wanted and it was exactly what we wanted.  it's never too soon to figure it out, just make sure you ask if there will be price increases for 2012.

    I have run out of things to plan.  I got engaged in late Febuary and I have booked almost everything- I have the dress, bridesmaids have their dresses.  Now I just have about a year to kill until I can get married...you are not alone

    you are not crazy or the only one! I had my hall booked from last year and we are not getting married until next year! We have everything booked as well. All I have left to do is save :)

    Not the only one for sure...people look at me crazy too. I'm a planner and a budget consious person. Sometimes you need to figure it out before what you want disappears. I already bought my bouquet flowers because they were perfect. I can't have real flowers because of families allergies so I found exactlly what I wanted and didn't want to chance that they were going to have them again next year.

    you are not the only one at all! we got engaged on july 11th and  arent getting married until 1-21-12.  I have almost everything planned.  We already booked our reception hall as well as the church where the ceremony will take place.  I have my cake picked out, my photographer chosen as well as the flowers i want and my FI and I just picked our honeymoon spot!  The only huge thing i havent purchased yet is my dress( but that doesnt mean i havent been looking!)  I would love to get married sooner, but it comes down to the cost and the time we are waiting makes the budgeting and payment plans perfect for our lifestyle.  Your not alone, plan away and have fun! GL

    Not at all!  I have started planning even though I live overseas and can't see my venues until the beginning of 2013 and am planning the wedding for September of 2013.  At least you have it planned and can enjoy being in engaged!!!

    I'm glad to see that I'M not the only one either, ladies!  My boyfr- er, fiance (!) have really only started the process.  We have picked a ring setting, but are meeting with our jeweler to pick diamonds, so I haven't even announced it except to my closest friends and family.  But I have nearly every detail planned out (no reservations or dress purchased yet or anything). However, we're looking at September of '12, since my fiance still has to finish up with grad school.

    When I told my parents that the wedding would be two years from now, they said "We could be dead by then!" Pshh, way to pressure us!

    Is anyone worried that by the time their wedding comes around that all their ideas might feel stale?? What I have planned right now is so "US", but in two years we might be a whole different couple...maybe? Ack!
