Disposable Cameras on tables?

should I have disposable cameras at each table? I really like this idea..

I think we're doing this.  A great "throwback 90s wedding" thing, IMO.  Plus, you'll get shots from friends that the photographer won't.  Just be warned, if your FI's buddies have had a few drinks you might find some interesting shots while developing, or if your 4-year-old nephew takes a few cameras you could end up with a lot of kneecap and shoe shots.

My only recommendation is to make a game of it. I put them on our tables and got 10 cameras filled with underexposed shots of the ground, blurry closeups, and kids playing with them (mostly kids' bad shaky photos). What I've seen other brides do is offer a reward for a table scavenger hunt. One bride had 8 special cupcakes made and the table that finished their scavenger hunt and turned in their camera with the check off card got the treat. Things like:

    _Photo of the bride's flowers
    _Catch someone laughing
    _First dance photo
    _Kids at play

etc. It gave the cameras a purpose and gave the bride and groom actual photos that they liked.

Some people have had luck with it but most wedding guests will have their own digital cameras with them which will take far superior photos (and at no cost to you).  Most brides order photosharing cards free from Vistaprint with instructions for their guests to upload their photos instead and put those out at the reception somewhere.  I have mine in my planning bio.

When I got married 15 years ago we did this as the camera's were a wedding gift.  We paid an awful lot of money for wasted pics.  I would never do it again and I don't recommend spending what it will cost for the camera and developing.  I recommend the pp's advice about photo sharing.

I think that is wise.  Besides, if you photo share with your guests you might find some shots you want to crop or add some light to, etc to enhance the picture.  Good luck.

I wanted to give kids a camera to take pics with, since these kids find it so much fun.  The cost of cameras did not bother me.  however, the price of developing mostly pics of people's feet would bother me.  i forgot how expensive developing pics is.  i ussually let me cousins use my digital camera and then delete 90% of the pics they take.  oh well.
