Welcome to Denver Dinner

My Fiance and I want to have a welcome to town dinner instead of a rehearsal dinner and need some suggestions as to where to go. The majority of our guests are going to be staying downtown at the Curtis so I originally thought of something close by but then I started thinking that I want to do something that gave people a real taste of Colorado, i.e. something in the mountains. However, it will be difficult to car pool all of our out of town guests to Genesee Park for a BBQ. Plus, then we are at the mercy of the weather as well. We are on a pretty tight budget. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

    you could take them out around the 16th street mall

    earls is pretty good (although all the waitresses are skinny skinny)
    hard rock denver is good too

    or oh, rock bottom brewery!!!

    places that have patios if it's nice....! :-D

    We're doing our Welcome to CO BBQ at a city park.  We're getting barbeque from a place delivered and just coolers of drinks.  HTH

    If you want something convenient and very Colorado, have you looked at the Buckhorn Exchange? They are right off the light rail and very Colorado (thats where I'm thinking of having my rehersal)!

    i'm going to warn you as someone who has been to the buckhorn, while delicious and  very very very denver, it is VERY EXPENSIVE


    i took my FI there for his birthday and it cost us around $100

    if you have the $$$ go for it.....if not, save it for your anniversary...

    I also like brew pubs like Wynkoop or Breckenridge Brewery is really CO.

    If you are willing the throw down the cash nothing says CO like the Fort or even Morrison Inn, get them up to the mountains a bit.

    Convenient to the Curtis...we're having our rehersal dinner at the Gilmore Art Center which is at 21st and Curtis.  You'd have to have it catered but you can bring your own alcohol...Its just a little art gallery...
