Which for the toast?

The flutes on the left are Irish - Tipperary Crystal. My mom offered to let me use those if we wanted.

The glasses on the right are vintage champagne glasses that my aunt offered to let us use. They are from the 1930/1940's, and they didn't actually drink champagne from flutes back then, so they would be appropriate for the Old Hollywood vibe.

What do you gals think?

I like the ones on the left better for champagne toasting but if you are just toasting with whatever then go with the ones on the right. =)

I like the ones on the right... they are vintage and go with your theme!

I like the ones to the left, too.  They look like they should be used for toasting.

But then again they both look really good so either would work.  :)

they're both really nice-but i think if you want to stay with your theme go with the right ones-plus everyone has flutes (including me! now this kinda inspired me to get different glasses!) -it's nice to have something different!

I say the ones on the left if you are toasting with champagne. The shape of the champagne flute enhances the taste and it may taste funny or a little off or whatever if you use a different shaped glass (even though it is more characteristic of the era). If you want to use the right ones for champagne (I think they are really pretty so either one would look great) make sure to taste the chanpagne you are using out of the glass to make sure you like the way it tastes.
That is a tough choice because both are so pretty!!!!

I like the old-school vibe of the ones on the right!  Fits better with your theme IMO.

I like those ones on the left but that could be because I am Irish, LOL.  But with that being said you might go with the ones on the right since they go with your theme.

They are both nice. BUT, the saucer shape glass traditionally is not as balanced as the flute shape which may cause spillage on your dress.

Thanks for the input, ladies. Most of you liked the flutes, but most of the girls on the Vintage/Retro board liked the older glasses. LOL

Normally I'm all about Irish crystal - DH and I LOVE Waterford, but I have to say in your shoes I'd choose the glasses on the right. I love the old-school champagne glasses and I think you're totally right about the old Hollywood vibe they give off :)
