Lunch and CP Question!

Good morning, Ladies!  What's everyone having for lunch today?  I'm having the WW smart ones creamy rigatoni with chicken and broccoli and carrot and celery sticks.  Yummy!!

So I've been doing a lot of research on nice disposable dishes and linens for the wedding.  I'm wondering what you ladies are doing.

i'm having a salad with lettuce, carrots, mushrooms, celery, peanuts and asian sesame ginger dressing. i try to make big salads at the beginning of the week that i can just put into a smaller container to bring for lunch because it makes it a lot easier. this is the 4th time i've successfully remembered to make the salad before monday. woo.

our reception hall will be providing all the plates and dishes. i can't imagine how costly it would be to rent everything!

I'm having chickpea salad (as opposed to chicken salad) with diced red peppers, bagel chips & baby carrots for lunch.

Our venue is providing all our dinnerware, flatware, glassware, & linens. FI & I aren't terribly concerned with that, the standard stuff our venue has looks really nice.

I am having left overs - Mac & Cheese with whole wheat macaroni Mmmmm

I chose 'other alternative'. Our venue provides dishes and white linens only. We do want black napkins and some sort of additional black linens on the headtable so we will be either renting or purchasing those.
  • Options
i guess i should add that we are using their base linens (they provide white, ivory, and black, so we're using ivory), and renting blue runners, ivory chair covers and blue sashes, and blue(maybe green?) napkins. but it's all done through our reception hall. i actually gave the coordinator at our reception hall my bridesmaid dress swatch because we went through the whole book and couldn't find any table covers that matched. she has a guy who does the linens though so she thinks he'll be able to find something.

I have a leftover turkey burger, Green Giant steamed broccoli and carrots (my favorite frozen veggie mix), raw carrots, and an apple.

Our venue is providing everything (linens, dishes, glasses, flatware).  Our linens are all white which I'm not thrilled about but isn't an option in our budget.  So it is not so boring though I bought royal blue table runners from efavormart when I had a coupon to add some pop to the tables.  The goal is to resell after the wedding so they end up being almost free to me.

Mmm!  I love chickpeas, but have never heard of chickpea salad.  Mind sharing your recipe?

Plain white rice... food poisoning will allow me no other food.  I attempted yogurt this morning and that was NOT a good idea.

We are just using the dishes and linens the venue is supplying.  I think with the centerpieces, table numbers, and any other little odds and ends that the table will look fine.  Plus I am hoping more people are on the dance floor then scrutinizing my tableware selection :)
  • Options
Renting the dishes and linens is a bit costly but the way we have the centerpieces done, the items we picked out go great with them.  Lunch will be  Smart Ones Spagetti with Meat Sauce, greek yogurt with fruit in the bottom and flaxseed meal (2 teaspoons).

I'm having my usual: a turkey sandwich with just turkey and low-fat provolone on brownberry nutty grain bread. Yum!

My venue offers linens along with the package. But I would like to jazz it up a bit so I am looking for at least some table runners to go with. My vision is to have striped runners on each table, since we have stripes running throughout our theme. I might end up making them, which is fine too since it's super easy.

agladhill, sure! It's super easy, I came up with up on a really hot summer day when I didn't feel like cooking anything & thought it'd be a good vegetarian subsitiute for chicken salad.

    Ingredients:
1 (15oz) can chickpeas, semi-mashed. I use a fork, I like having some unmashed chickpeas for texture
1-3 celery stalks, diced (I didn't have celery, so I used red pepper today. Any crunchy veggie will do though)
Mayo/Miracle Whip/Veganaise/whatever you use, to taste (I typically use 2 tablespoons)
Spices, whatever you like, to taste. I usually use garlic powder, black pepper, a dash of cayenne, white pepper, a dash of salt, and paprika.

Mix together in a bowl & serve!

It's delicious on a sandwich, with crackers, bagel chips, or by itself.

I got home late last night, so FI packed my lunch- leftovers of what he made that I didn't eat. I have pasta and 1 meatball (I think the sauce & meatballs his mom sent him home with this weekend).

Our caterer is arranging the rentals of linens, dishes, chairs, cooking equipment, whatever is needed, but after finding that plastic flatware that looks like actual silverware at Costco, FI was ready to just use that and some Chinet.

Our venue pays for all rentals in our package.  We get basic white china plates with  stemware and flatware.  We got to pick out our linens/chairs.  We picked gold chivari chairs with red/cinnamon chair cushions and matching red/cinnamon damask table cloths :)

Oh, and lunch is left over chicken & salad casserole...SO good.

I voted other. The venue provides all the linens and china, but we also purchased purple organza overlays as they didn't offer anything in purple!

For lunch today I had a treat and one of my good friendstook me to Chili's for my birthday!! I had 1/2 order of loaded potatoe soup & 1/2 a ham & swiss sandwich.... then we split my birthday dessert!

Well I know we're probably on to dinner by now (at least on the East coast), but for lunch I had greek yogurt with blueberries, pretzels, and a 100 calorie pack of cookies.

Our venue provides linens in pretty much every color under the sun. They only have 1 pattern of dishware though.
