What do you want in a photographer?

What are you ladies looking for in a photographer? Is your main concern your budget or the kind of photos you want? Do you care about having a photo album? Is your photographer one of your main expenses or an after thought? What would you like to spend on a photographer?

I am getting married in August and my photographer was probably the most important choice in my planning. I want beautiful and creative pictures that will be great memories. I didn't want just anyone taking them because I didn't want them just to be boring or horrible pictures.

How do you feel about photography?

I looked for a photographer that was really creative and fun, but also knew what they were doing. I was definitely more concerned with finding a photographer that i loved than i was with the price. We were definitely willing to spend a large chunk of our buget on the photography. After all these are the one thing that will last for us to look back on. I definitely wanted to get a pro album in my package because they are so much nicer than all those cheap looking digital books, plus the album we are getting is archival quality so we know that we can hand it down to our kids.
I really love photography so it was more important to me than the fiance, but he agreed that of all the things we are spending money on it is the only thing that will stay with us forever. We are spending about 3800 on our package with Kelly Embry Photography in Atlanta. She really has great work, both on her wedding site and her personal site. I knew she was my photographer the moment i saw her pictures.

good luck in your hunt. i hope you find the perfect photographer for your wedding!!!

I agree with the fact that the quality and professionalism of the photographer have to be the the main concerns as opposed to price.
However, that doesn't necesseraly means that all good photographers are expensive. The main point is to find one that has his professional in house lab and wedding album production factory. Their prices are usually lower.I have used a particular one called Dreams Studio Photography. The quality was superb.

Good Luck for the preparation of your big day.

I think photographers are all different just as we are all different. It is what you want and what matters to you.   I am very sentimental and having all the pics is actually more important to me than the album.

I am not photogenic at all, if anyone has seen the friends where Monica and Chandler try to get professional photos and he looks ridiculous...well that's me. So my number one criteria is that our photographer needs to make me look good.

I am also looking for a photographer who will include a cd of all my photos without their name on it so I can make more copies if I want.
