Too many favors?

We bought "pub" glasses personalized for our wedding. Guest will get to keep the glasses, and its a personal touch  because my Fiance and I collect them. I was also going to fill mason jars with candy made from a family recipe for guests.

Too much?

Should I just do the glasses and skip the jars? or do both?

hmm... how much is this going into your budget? what about filling the cups with candy instead of having jars? IMO, two favors should kind of go together, and a glass and jar with candy dont really go. love the idea though :)
  • I like PPs idea of putting the candy in the pub glasses.  You get the best of both that way and save some money.
  • We are usuing the glasses during dinner....otherwise I could put candy in them, but minty beer didnt sound appealing to me. I'm just not sure if that counts as a favor.
  • You can always put the candy in a clear treat bag in the cup, so they can remove it to drink from it.

  • You are using the glasses and then sending the dirty glasses home as a favour? Are you washing them for them before they go? Are you giving them a bag to put it in?

You bring up a good point. A small bag would probably be welcome, so they don't have to worry about it getting sticky, or having to carry it loose and possibly getting broken. I also love the PP's suggestion of the candy inside a clear bag in the glass so they can take it out.

  • Giving two favours is generous, but how are your guests going to carry everything?  I would suggest picking either the glass or the jar because ladies with clutches, cameras, etc, and then a jar and a glass might have an awkward time carrying everything home.
  • Depends on what your budget is. I think both are great options, you could have a table of the pub glasses for people who want them, I am assuming not everyone will want one, so you purchase half of the wedding party size. Do the same for the jar favor.

I also found a wonderful website that provides inspiration images of favors and candy bars and where to purchase products to get that dream image. Check it out and good luck!

  • janegoodey - apparently you missed the pesky little part of the terms of service where vendors arent allowed to advertise on the boards.  How can you trust a vendor who can't follow rules?  All of your posts advertise the website in your post.

My thoughts exactly! Or a mesh bag, burlap baggie, etc.
