Name AND Address Change Question

I won't be moving in with FI until after the wedding, but I'm thinking about starting to change my billing address on some bills now. I know the DMV requires proof of your new address in order to change it on your license, so I figure if I start receiving my bills at FI's house now then by the time I'm ready to change my name I can have the DMV update both at the same time. Has anyone else done it this way? I want to make sure I'm not creating any issues for myself by starting to change over everything now.

Usually the DMV requires a bill for the rent/mortgage, or utilities or an official bank statement (not something printed online) So maybe your FI can get your name on one of the others if not make sure your bank statements arrive via post at your new place.

You can start with credit cards and stuff like that, it will take about a month to switch it over anyway...so I would definitely start soon.

Switching address is easy. You can do it online at the USPS website. Just make sure to contact your utilities, phone company, auto insurance, etc that you pay every month and change your address through them. Getting mail forwarded is much easier than contacting everyone with the new addy.
