Cupcake Flavors

I am baking 300 cupcakes for a friend's wedding this weekend.  There will be four flavor selections.  What I would like to know is: Should I make a nice sign to place near the cupcakes so that people are aware of the selections?  Or would that be tacky?

Also, she didn't mention making any sugar free cupcakes, due to diabetes or w/e.  Do you think I should make a dozen or so to be safe?

I would just ask her, but she's swamped, and I'm unable to get ahold of her.

Thank you in advance.

I would definitely make a little sign so people know what flavor is what.  Do you know how formal her wedding is or what colors she is using?  I would guess that going off the colors/fonts on the invitation would be a safe bet if you don't have any other ideas.

If you want to (and have time to) make the sugar-free cupcakes, go ahead.  I think it would be nice, but not necessary.

Thank you for your suggestions Jessica! I do know her colors...she wants the frosting to correspond: Hot Pink and Bright Purple. Whew. And it's going to be relative informal/semi-formal.

I agree with Jessica. I also think you're a saint for taking so much time and care in baking the cupcakes.

You're welcome, and I agree that you are awesome for making 300 cupcakes for your friend and caring about all these details, too!

i would make a sign for sure.  my wedding was last week.  i had 4 cupcake flavors.  we used a small chalkboard on a picture easle right on the cake table.  it looked really cute and was totally helpful.

I agree that a sign is important. Sugar free cupcakes aren't necessary, but if you have the extra time and resources, go for it. I would also consider doing a gluten free cupcake.

I think the signs for flavors are important. You might not know it but some people might be allergic to a certain flavor and it just makes things easier to know in advance what you are getting and not having to guess. Sometimes cupcakes can look like one flavor but you bite into it and then its abother.

I agree that if she hasn't asked the Sugar Free isn't required but would probably be appreciated by someone. Many don't know it but my son is a diabetic and we generally make him share a dessert with his brother because he just can't handle the sugar from a full cupcake. That or we take the icing off. If they had a sugar free option and he could have his  very own cupcake, he would be so excited.

Thank you so much for everyone's advice!

I made a nice laminated sign.  And I also made sugar free cupcakes which worked out great because the Father of the Groom is a diabetic.

    A huge success! :)
