Shoe Help

Hi Ladies- I am thinking of buying these shoes and having them dyed ivory to match my gown....but I don't know if it is too busy for my wedding gown. What do you think?

I love the shoes, but I'm not sure I'd pick those for that dress. If the applique on your dress is silver, I'd actually go with silver shoes. Or more simple ivory shoes would be another option

I agree with BostonBride. My dress had a similar "feel" to yours, and I paired it with crackle-metallic silver flats from J. Crew.

But then, I was big on buying accessories that I could rewear with other outfits, so maybe that's why I'm not a fan. If it's your style, go for it.

I lhave loved those shoes ever since Cole Haan started selling them!!

I actually bought them during one of Cole Haan's 30% off sales before I bought my dress.  Unfortunately they do not "go" with my dress so I had to return them.

I agree with the other posters that silver shoes would look better.  I also don't really think that the little roses go with the feel of your dress.  They shoes are definitely more cutsey.

To make you feel better....I was told that it might be difficult to dye those shoes.  The roses are sort of a different material than the rest of the shoe and they are very detailed which may make the dye uneven.  Cole Haan does have some other bridal shoes that may look better with your dress if it is the Nike Air you are after.

I ended up buying silver shoes from Valentino.  They are almost 5 inches high but they have a little bit of a platform so they are still comfortable.  Here is a link to the shoes I got but I bought them in silver.

I agree that those shoes are amazing but they don't quite seem to match with your dress.  If you love them though, wear them! Who cares!  My favorite phrases during wedding planning have become "No" (to pushy family members 'suggestions') and "Because I like it!" It's our day, so do what you want :)

Another option would be to maybe find a great rehearsal dinner/wedding escape dress that they would match, and you could wear the outfit on your honeymoon too? Just a thought!

Mox: The shoes are from Cole Haan- Ceci Rose Slingbacks. They are on major sale at Neimans- from over $400 to $200

Thanks everyone for your input. I hesitated on this as well because originally I was looking for silver shoes to go with my wedding gown. I stumbled upon this adorable pair, on sale, and with the Nike Air sole and thought....MAYBE it will work. Back to the drawing board...

I am actually with Stacey- if you like them- go for it! I mean.. they are under your dress so they won't be seen as much anyways. And you could definitely get a cute rehearsal dress to go with them.

I had heard the same thing when I was looking at Cole Haans and Stuart Weitzmans.  My original plan had been to dye them ivory... then hopefully dye them black and wear them again and again.  Pretty unrealistic.  The other thing to keep in mind is that most brides dirty up their shoes a lot on their wedding day, esp during picture taking.
