Little Miss Sunshine

This is what the lady at Tim Horton's called me this morning.  Apparently I was too perky for words.  I feel like CRAP (FBD gave me his cold...jerk!!) but apparently I hide it well.  It kind of made me feel good though...she was genuinely happy that I was so nice and perky this morning.  I'm glad I could make someone else smile.  It made my day start out right....anything nice happen to you this morning?

I didn't faceplant on my way up the escalator this morning. Does that count?

Totally counts.  I'm the master of awkward injuries so yes, I'd count that as a victory.

That is still sitting in his apartment!!! So, I look at the pictures taken on my phone and there are 4 of them. Grrr... Oh wait, you said something nice... Hmmm, I woke up snuggling with my kitties :) I miss them when I leave for the weekend.

Well aren't you just a fvcking ran of sunshine!

I kid, I kid. BF was annoying this morning, and I had to dig my car out from a foot of snow. But it did make me happy to see the dogs playing in the snow! And we finally got Dixie to go out, which is good because last year she hated the snow and had to be dragged out.

That's better than the 'you look tired' that I usually get lol.

I'm driving home today, so I started packing the car. I'm not sure that qualifies as 'nice', but it's exciting!!

Apparently barely anyone works the week before Christmas in this city. Traffic was amazing coming in, so that was really nice.

Paige - your story reminded me of an old work place. One of the managers called all the women sunshine, but all the men moonshine. So, you'd hear him walking through the place "Morning Sunshine, Morning Moonshine". it was pretty funny

Hazel, that's cute!  Reminds me of a 1950's movie, where the bosses call everyone "Darlin'" or "Chief".

Um, we hired a maid to show up today?  Hopefully it will become a once-monthly thing.  That would be a godsend.  BF and I agreed long ago that for our own mental well-being (and the sake of our relationship), we need a regular maid.  Neither of us is naturally a cleaner.  Though we talked about it last night - he said if I do become a stay-at-home Mom at some point, that I'd have to clean as it wouldn't make sense for me to stay home all the time and STILL pay someone to clean.  I agreed, because I do think that's fair.

    What a turd!!!

This was light night but FI's BFF came home from bootcamp for Christmas! We knew he was planning on coming home to surprise his mom/GF but completely forgot about it until we got the phone call to come over. GF's dad planned it with BFF and they video recorded the whole surprise. I cried watching it (and I'm tearing up now thinking about it,LOL) So far he really likes it and is so excited about it. I'm glad and very proud of him :)

My dad's friend's wife stays at home and they have a maid. I think the only thing she does (other than biitch and moan) is teach their little yappy dog tricks and watch direct tv all day. I've heard many stories about her- she's a peach.

I was just going to say this. They are always so sweet.

Cate- We have a maid service that we use. They come once a month. The thing that gets me though, is that my mom always has to clean before they come. It drives me crazy, it's like why do we have to clean for them to clean? It is well worth it though, they do a great job.

Nothing nice this morning, BF left to go home for Christmas... I'm sad.  I'm going to miss coming home to a still dirty Apt, him on the couch, or in bed tempting me to join him.  Now I don't have to reason to get things done!

But in all seriousness, I'm hoping to start spending holidays together next year.  Last night all he talked about was my ring, and how he looked at wedding bands while at the jeweler... but weird part was - it didn't make me go BSC!

Yes, I'm very grateful for the maid!  And no, I don't clean before the maid shows up (though I should have at least put away my clean folded laundry that's sitting on my couch - but I don't think it'll get in her way at all).  My kitchen's a mess!

Ideally, I'd like someone to come in once every other week.  And as long as I'm working, we'll have someone come at least once a month since that's high priority for me.  But I do see his point - a military salary isn't huge, and for us to have one of us stay at home, it would cut into our disposable income significantly.  So part of the job of being the person staying at home would be to clean, cook, and take care of the children.

He started on this whole thing about how when we have children, I'll have to cook healthy meals with lots of vegetables, no processed foods, no preservatives, no pesticides, no hormones... so I said, "Okay, let me get this straight... you want me to raise children, clean the house, cook all the meals, and grow my own food?!  What is this, the colonial period?  Might as well kill my own chickens, huh?"

To which he goes, "Oh, having our own chickens would be a good idea!  No antibiotics in the eggs or meat!"

I swear I might kill him.
