Hair & flowers

Hello !
I'm thinking of using Keep Austin Gorgeous for my hair and make-up for my wedding day , has anyone used them before? They are kinda far North so if you know anywhere that would do a great job in South Austin (the venue is on Brodie)that information would be helpful too!

Also I wanted to order flowers online so I can make my own bouquets. There was a package I liked on the website growersbox.com , has anyone ever used them or have a good website for bulk flowers??

Thanks!!!

If you order your flowers online, do you have someone who can help you put the arrangements together?  I've read that when you order them, you're supposed to let them rest in water for a day or so and then do the arranging the night before the event.  It's a great way to save some money, but it can mean a lot of stress for you the night before your wedding.

    Just a thought.

Several of my bridesmaids have already agreed to come help me do the bouquets and the groom's mom is letting us ship them to the house a few days early so they can open up.

I had a hair trial with Erica Gray, and she's awesome! She can be a little slow to respond to email. but she was very responsive to my ideas about hair and didn't seem to have a problem dealing with my very long hair. She also does not have a minimum number of services for traveling and a low traveling fee.

I had my hair and makeup done with Sara Domi and could not rave enough. She just opened a salon on 5th street. For full disclosure, she is a family friend, but being extremely self concious about my appearance it was important to me to have the best of the best when it came to hair and makeup so I would've hired (or fired her if I didn't like her) regardless of the family friend status.

I highly suggest Austin Flower Company off 35th & Jefferson for buying bulk flowers if you or someone else is arranging them. They have great prices and no S&H. They are good at helping to decide how many you actually need as well. You go in and order a couple weeks before then pick them up a day or two in advance and pay for them then.

I'd recommend Austin Flower Co too.  When we were thinking of doing DIY flowers, their pricing was really good and it added some peace of mind that it was a local company should the flowers come in and not be in peak condition versus dealing with an online warehouse.  I'd also suggest visiting with Donna Foster at the north Central Market.  She totally changed us from doing DIY with her great service & prices.

As far as hair & make-up goes, I used Keep Austin Gorgeous and I love it!  Alonda did my make-up and she was great about listening to my likes/dislikes and helping me decide what would look best.  She's also a perfectionist, so I never felt like she was rushing during our trial or on the big day.  Brizy did my hair and during the trial we did a half up/half down hair style that turned out fine, but I didn't feel like it fit the vibe we were going for with the wedding.  On the big day I showed her a picture of a very soft & romantic up-do as well as the headband I purchased and she did wonders with my super fine hair!  I got so many compliments and the pictures I've seen so far are beautiful.  They also did my MOH & BM's hair & make-up which looked great.  We also had them do hair for my Mom, my MIL, & our 2 flower girls.  Everyone looked wonderful!

I'm glad you mentioned this about Erica Gray. I booked her several months ago and have sent her four e-mails in the last couple of weeks, all regarding different things, mostly scheduling for a trial run. She hasn't yet responded and I've been getting a little frustrated. But I'm willing to wait it out a little longer.

Jaking16, any updates on Erica Gray? She was great at responding to my first inquiry but I haven't been able to get a hold of her since and trying to decide what to do next... Thanks!
