Wedding Websites and Save the Date: Etiquette

Is it ok to include your wedding website on your save the date?

this is my website if you wanted an example of what I am talking about:
www.mywedding.com/princecarpenter

I was wondering because I know it is not ok to include registry info on the invitation or save the date.

While my website includes registry info,  there is also a lot of other information on the website that would be helpful.  I am currently working on hotel blocks and they will noted on our website before we mail our save the dates.  Since my side is traveling from WI and my FI's are coming from MI, I would like them to have as much information as possible as early as possible.

What is your take on this?  Is it ok to include a wedding website on the save the date?  Is it only ok if the website does not include registry info?  Or, is it ok to include the website even if there is a page that includes the registry info?

Thanks for your help!  I just don't want to ignore etiquette issues with wedding websites and save the dates!

  • Yep, agree with lovethebeach and you're fine.  I checked out your website and the registry info isn't obnoxious at all.

I saw a friend of a friend's wedding website and she had a big message on the front page telling guests to be sure to check out the registry section.  That was tacky, but yours is tasteful.
  • My fiance and I are including our wedding website on our save the dates for the exact same reason as you ...it gives useful info as to where the ceremony and reception are located as well as hotel block info. My mom sent it to a number of people already and people have been giving really positive feedback because they've never seen someone do one and thought it was a cool idea so no worries - you are "A OK" - Good Luck!
