    I'm a fan of these...
    - Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
    - Handel's Water Music
    - Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary
    - Purcell's Trumpet Tune
    - Air in G String

ETA: If you like Canon in D, why not use it for both your WP and you?  Your WP comes in first, and then you can enter at a more upbeat, louder part of the song.  The song is definitely long enough and works really well for this - I have seen it done in the past.

I love Pachelbel as well - and have the bridesmaids walking to that.  I am walking to the Clarke Trumpet Voluntary - it's gorgeous, and very regal!

Personally, I find Canon in D REALLY boring after about 8 measures.  Might I suggest Brahms Intermezzo in A op 118 no 2?  Not only will people not be sick of it, and your musician will thank you, but it is just the right length and has this great "hold-your-breath" moment right before the bride walks in, so you can use one song for the wedding party and the bride.  It gives you just enough of a change between the two that if your pianist times it, it will be seamless.  I've played a few weddings and people always love it.  Plus switching songs for the bride can get pretty awkward.

There are lots of great ideas on http://maestromusicians.com/blog/blogweb/index.php?/categories/1-Christian-Wedding-Music. Remember that you can always mix and match between categories.

    Good luck!
