Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

We are getting married at the botanical gardens next month (yay!!!).  Just wondering if any of you have been there?  We are having a hard time choosing the garden we want to have the ceremony in.  We've narrowed it down to the "rose arbor" or "event  garden."  The pros for the event garden, it is more private but less colorful.  The rose arbor is very colorful, but also very heavily visited with foot traffic.

I'm torn.  If you've been to the gardens, can you please give me an outsiders opinion. Thanks!!!!

I haven't been to the gardens, but it sounds beautiful!   Are you concerned with people disrupting your service?  If so, then I'd go for the event garden because of the increased privacy.  But if you really feel the rose arbor will make for a nicer setting and prettier pictures, and you think people might see the wedding but not disturb you, then I'd go for the arbor!

I would go for the color.  If you have a wedding coordinator you could ask her to at least put up some signs during the ceremony to warn visitors to be quiet for a little while.  Not sure if there is a way to rope off the area once you are down the aisle, but you might want to look into it.  Good luck, I love the Botanical Gardens!

Nope, the area cannot be roped off and honestly I don't think I'd want to do that to people anyway.  I don't mind people hanging around watching, I'm just afraid they are going to be in some of the pictures of the ceremony and I don't want pictures ruined because of an innocent by-stander. Now that I type it all out, I think I just made my decision.  Private garden it is.  I can have photos taken at the rose arbor afterward when there is no chance of anyone getting in the way.   Thanks ladies!!!!
