rehersal dinner in Athens,Ga.

I'm not from Athens but am getting married in Athens.  What are some nice places for a rehersal dinner that are able to accomodate about 35 people? Anyone know?

    It really depends on what you are looking for. I looked into a couple places downtown for the rehearsal dinner, but parking downtown is horrible and my wedding is the weekend of UGA's graduation. For downtown Athens, I would recommend DiPalmas, or East/West Bistro.

    My new favorite restaurant is actually in downtown Watkinsville. It is called Chops and Hops. (www.chopsandhops.com). It can be pricey depending on what people order but my FI and I ate there last week for his birthday and it was $65 including the tip. I believe that they have a private room, but they do have an upstairs which is very nice!

    The Hilltop Grill!!! Not very formal but very good food and kinda on the pricey side.
    DiPalmas is good too. 

    But in general, I would stay away from downtown unless you make sure to carpool and you think your WP can manage. Like PP said, parking sucks.

    Check out Hotel Indigo's Rialto Room.  It's cozy and swank in the basement of the Hotel.  Very intimate.  They have a restaurant that I think can cater, but you may be able to get catering from outside the venue.  Also there are the State Botanical Gardens.  As far as restaurants, Mia Casa and Last Resort are worth a look at.  Five and Ten is a little pricey, but probably one of the highest class restaurants in Athens.  It's not Downtown, but at 5 points, where parking would probably be more troublesome.
