Advice-Hope this is the right board :)

Hi! Hope it's okay I'm posting on this board for some help! I'm a former Knottie myself, now a Nestie! My soon to be sister in law is getting married in Estes Park at The Stanley Hotel. She is trying to finalize a contract, but has to give them times of when the ceremony and reception will start to secure her date. She is wanting to have the ceremony and pictures taken while it is still sunny...then have the reception when there is a moonlight through the windows.

I guess my question is, what time would make sense for her to have her ceremony and reception to accommodate the underlined desires?

P.S. We are from the East coast, so it is a destination wedding...that's why I'm asking about this since I'm not extremely familiar with when the sun sets over there and things like that so thank you VERY much in advance

it depends on the time of year (summer vs. winter)...it could mean a difference of 1-2 hours between daylight/dusk/evening.

You could probably google it to get exact sunset times, but in January it will start getting dark about 5 or 5:30 (I THINK!), so depending on the length of the ceremony, late afternoon would be best. Good luck!

check farmer's almanac online. it will tell you all the times for everything for every date.

I think it will calculate for Estes Park, if you enter the latitude and longitude:

40.38°N 105.52°W (Elev. 7596 ft)

check weather.com, i think they have sunset averages. It starts getting dark around 5 (maybe even a little earlier) and by 5:30-6, its dark! If she was up for doing pics before hand, she could do pics in the afternoon, have the wedding at like 5, reception at what 6:30-7 and she would accomplish her goals. If she did pics after, she should probably plan to finish the cermony and start pics by about 4
