We are dress twins!  I LOVE that dress.  It gives me an hour glass shape when I so don't have one!  :)

  • Dress triplets!

What are you guys wearing with yours?

  • oh man!  super cool!  :)  i LOVE that dress, my grandma even called it when i put it on, she was like, 'you're going to buy that dress... i just KNOW it!'

i'm about to post links to everything i'm wearing  hahaha

    rehearsal & dinner dress:
    rehearsal dinner shoes:

    ceremony shoes (outdoor wedding):

reception shoes (or until i switch back to sandals  haha):

i made a long veil (almost floor length) but i'll switch into a headband with an ivory chiffon flower for the reception. (i still haven't taken pictures of either of these)

my mom is letting me borrow her pearl necklace.  and she has a saphire charm that hooks to it that looks really nice.

    these are my earrings:

i won't wear any other jewelry just because i like to keep it simple

    this is my garter:

i'm doing my first fitting in two weeks!  i'm so excited, it's such a flattering dress, i love it!  i ended up getting the backless bra from VS with the stickies on the side, i haven't tried it on yet with it but i have a good feeling about it  :)

what are y'all wearing with yours?

Your rehersal dinner shoes are freaking awesome- And your garter is so pretty!

I love our dress, too! And I totally agree with RivieraBound- It totally gives me a shape I never dreamed I had ;)

We're doing a vaguely '20's theme/ vintagey/ outdoor thing and our colors are teal, not obnoxious orange, and gray.

So these are my ceremony shoes:

I glittered the soles with orange glitter, and I'm making teal shoe clips for them.

My reception shoes are custom Chucks- We got them for the whole wedding party. Going up the heel stripe is the wedding date in same teal as the lining:

    These are my earrings:
And I'm really torn about a necklace- I kind of feel like the top of the dress is sparkly enough that I don't *have* to have one. I figure if I happen to run across the perfect thing, great, but if I don't it'll be fine, too.

I've got this veil for the ceremony:

And I made a feathery hair clip for the reception:

And I got this cardigan in case it gets chilly:

And I'm doing my hair like this:

How are you guys doing your hair?

And how do you think a bustle is going to work out with the dress? I haven't been able to find any pictures of it done :/

  • i love your hair inspiration, i'm not sure how i'm doing my hair yet because i'm trying to let it grow out.  i like the messy side ponytail look, but i'm still looking for good pictures.

i love your feather hair clip, it's really cute!  :)

i'm not doing a bustle with mine because i like it to be less poofy, i was looking for 'not a princess dress' when i was dress shopping  haha  plus, FI wants to ride a motorcycle down from the ceremony to the reception so less dress is better for that :)

i didn't want a lot of bling on my dress, so i actually ended up taking off all the beading and sequins below the empire waist band and left everything from that up.  i hand stitched the sequins and beads that i took off the dress to my veil.  it took forever, but i think it looks really cool :)
  • I suck....I started this post and then forgot about it!

I am not going to wear a veil.  I bought this headband incase I want to wear my hair down:

But I also like the side messy bun thing so I might buy this rediculously expensive flower:

For my necklace I am currently in talks with an Etsy seller in regards to this necklace, The drop in the front will be removed except for the first crystal right under the medallion.  I definitely wanted a back drop necklace since the back of our dress is so low...its also going to be shortened to almost choker length:

For earrings I think just some plain pearls or tear drop pearls.  I havent gotten my shoes yet.  I would like some tiffany blue sandal heels but I am having no luck.

My first alterations appt isnt until March 31, I am going to have her add bra cups (I technically dont need them but wanted the girls to have more lift) and I am also going to have her take in the skirt at the hips to give it a more trumpet shape.

I LOVE how this dress is sooo light weight and I dont have to wear a crinoline and bra.

  • Taking off the beads- So smart! I keep thinking a sash would be great with the dress, but with that empire seam beading it just looks weird. Never thought about just taking off the beads.

It really is the perfect dress... I tried on this Oleg Cassini (http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_All-Over-Lace-A-Line-Gown-with-Obi-Sash-CWG365_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-Oleg-Cassini) and LOVED it, but couldn't imagine hauling that much dress around with me all day. In May. In Alabama. I'd be a hot, sweaty mess. So YAY for lightweight, lacy dresses with straps :)

RivieraBound, are you getting it bustled? I'd love to get away without it, but we're going to be outside all day and I don't want it to get absolutely destroyed dragging around on the ground all day.

I'm wearing a bra- I just feel more secure. But I got a low front strapless, added clear straps, and one of those low back converter things. Never thought that the low back would cause so much trouble!

  • I wear a 40DD so all the bras that I found that would work dont go up to my size.  I am not sure how I feel about the adhesive ones...Ive not come across any with great reviews.

I will be bustling mine...when I tried it on they had the seamstress come out and pin a mock up bustle and I liked it.  I told them if I didnt like it I was going to have them cut off the train.  I forget what the bustle looked like though.  All i know is it didnt make my hips poof out, I really hate when a bustled dress looks like that.

  • I agree about the adhesive ones- I was on the fence about it, asked over in the Attire forum and got a response about all the sticky bras failing for all the BM's during the ceremony so the girls basically had to cross their arms to hold themselves in. That definitely scared me away, especially considering how iffy I was about it to begin with!

I'm really interested to see how my seamstress tackles the bustle- I agree about not wanting it big and poofy, but I'm curious as to how it will work with the two layers. Guess I'll find out in a couple of weeks ;)

  • oh man, i'm definitely doing a bustle.... i was thinking you meant the crinolin or petty coat or whatever it is...

i'm not doing extra poof underneath, but i LOVE the train, so i'm keeping long at the ceremony and then bustling it for the reception.  we're getting married in the mountains on the red rocks so i've come to grips with the fact that the train is going to get dirty and stained from the red dirt at the ceremony and i'm ok with that  :)

i'm going to the tailor in another week, i'll get him to take a picture of the bustle and start a new thread for us.  i keep forgetting about this post since it's fallen back to page two.
  • Yeah, I totally thought a bustle was just something to go under the dress- I had no idea for a long time that it also referred to gathering it, too :)

Our wedding is outside on a farm, so I have no allusions that the bottom of the dress isn't going to get dirty- I just don't want to destroy the lace.

I'll post pics of what my seamstress ends up doing, too!
