Invites: How much time did you give for...

How far in advance did you mail?

How far in advance did you give for an RSVP deadline?

for our May 29, 2011 wedding we sent our invites out March 5th "ish" with a return date of May 10.

We have quite a few people travelling to Chicago for our wedding so we also sent out save the dates last May

For our May 14th wedding, invites were sent out by March 7th. Our RSVP date is April 9th.  I need to get all of our names w/table assignments to the graphic designer who is making our place cards three weeks before so I left a week buffer so we can call/email/stalk people who don't RSVP on time grrrrr!

We sent out our invites 8wks in advance with an rsvp of 4wks prior to the wedding.

We sent STDs at 7 months and 60% of our guests were OOT.

Ideally "they" recommend sending invites 6-8wks prior to wedding

ETA:  I still had plenty of time to DIY my escort cards and assemble them.  I tried to just make them as we received the RSVPs

For our July 9th wedding, we're sending ours out April 15th (to avoid the postage increase on 4/17) and have an RSVP date of June 10th. If postage wasn't going up and we didn't have our custom postage, we would send them out the beginning of May.

With a wedding date of June 11, we just sent ours out today, making it 10 weeks from the wedding day.  The RSVP's are due on May 15th, and our final count is due June 1.  That gives us a two week cushion to track down the impolite toads who did not respond.

Wedding is June 18th and we sent our invites out March 31st with a return date of May 11th. I wanted to give myself enough time to follow up with people that didn't return their cards and then create all of my place cards because I'm doing them by hand and they require a little bit of assembly and have plenty of time to get final numbers to our facility.

A little early? Probably, but I'd rather be happy and sane!

We sent invites out six weeks before our wedding, and requested all RSVPs to be in three weeks before the wedding.
