Wedding Reception

Hi everyone,

This is my first time getting married! We are set to get married on March 11, 2011.  I need some major advice.. I need some ideas where I can have my wedding ceremony and reception at the same location. My fiance and I only have a budget of $4500.00 dollars to work with... the one good thing I have is a caterer who won't charge me that much but the thing is alot of places dont allow outside caterers. So if there is a place I can have a wedding for 50 0r 75 people without charging me thousands of dollars please let me know!!!! All inclusive venues works for me as well and anywhere in orange county, san diego, and riverside areas are open. I know I'm not alone in this economy. Thank you for all your help future brides...

I suggest looking into having your wedding at a restaurant.  They already have tables, linens, food, etc.  The only downside is if you want dancing, many restaurants can't offer that.  Good Luck.

Research places for your ceremony/reception in the city that you live in. Check your city website for discounts for being a resident. Do cupcakes instead of cake, DIY invites and place cards.

try to CSUF alumni house. I'm getting married there this March.  The rental rate is by the hour and if you are someone you know (who is willing to sing the contract) is a CSUF alum, the price is significantly reduced! Our rental price for a friday from 3p- midnight was $1,000.  If your caterer doesn't provide any of the tables, linens, glassware, etc., you will obviously have to spend more on renting those.  You bring in all of your own vendors, which can save a lot.  Another place that's really affordable is the French Estate in Orange - but you have to get their food- but still pretty cheap (about $25/person I think).  GL!

owned by the city of San Clemente, ocean views, intimate location and allows all of your own vendors including alcohol.  Serving alcohol requires city-contracted security at a reasonable cost.  Discounts that can be applied: San Clemente resident, off-season months.
