Good Morning!

ITS EDGEFEST DAY YAAAAY!! lol ok im done. We are leaving in an hour anyways so you wont hear from me for the rest of the day most likely. Im a bit bummed about my garden though, I went out lastnight and saw 2 strange looking flies crawling around on my Jimmy Nardello and I looked it up and its pepper maggot flies :( I cant find anything useful for how to get rid of them and I suspect the pepper is already ruined. I messaged the farmer I bought the peppers from to see if she had any ideas what to do, but otherwise im stumped. And annoyed. Growin stuff is hard dude.

HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE!!!

Re: Good Morning!

• HAVE FUN!

H is all upset about his carrots. They were completely overtaken by the cucumbers (that spread like crazy.)  The carrots haven't gotten any sun in weeks, so we gave up on them. But he has picked a few radishes and peppers- he's so proud of himself.

I'm looking over our stuff for the childbirth class- trying to figure out wherethehell we're supposed to park. It's at our hospital, but it's a massive complex with like 10 different parking ramps. I'd rather not get lost ;)
• Happy Saturday morning. Yes Nebb is sucks when insects get your stuff. I had an attack of aphids a few years back that was insane. The little SOB's ate up everything I had no matter what I did.

I am just doing little things this weekend like planning for a complete financial, diet/exercise and career overhaul. I figure when you stop being willing to change is when you are old - be you 25 or 65. I have been taking some serious inventory this week.

For today, we have brunch with a group at 11:00 at Wildfire. Love that place, everything there is good even the healthier stuff! Then back home to clean house and do laundry, laundry, laundry.

Uuugh aphids, dont even say that name! My dill was doing amazingly last year and one day I found aphids in it and it all died. 2 years ago I lost 3 whole tomato plants because of aphids, I ripped them out because I was worried it would spread to all the other (they were all rather close). Little shitters. My beans are also not doing very well, I tried planting them in planters and I dont think it really worked, the beans are there but the leaves on the plants are almost all dead. C'est la vie!
• Morning! I have no garden so I have nothing to contribute in that area. Once again I failed to plant herbs like I wanted to this Spring. I kick myself everytime I have to buy some.

I have cleaning and wedding errands today and grocery shopping and the gym  tomorrow. So exciting! I'm actually just glad that I will be productive.

Have fun today Nebb!

Morning.

I'm going to Girl Scout camp today!  I'm excited to go, but sad because it's the celebration of the end of this camp.  They're selling the property

My rule of thumb is not to let your boards get to more than a page, then you lose track of what you have. A lot of yours are 1000 plus, which is 2 to 3 pages. I personally prefer my boards to have less than 300 if I can. Its just easier to keep organized that way.
Hey Pirate, I have a question for you.  If I checked my credit score ~November and got my credit card ~December, when can/should I check my score again?  I have been faithfully paying it off in full each month.
Posted by edielaura
<div>You CAN check it whenever.  Some people check as often as monthly, IMO quarterly is as often as anyone needs to know an updated score.  Monthly would drive me crazy.  You SHOULD check it at least annually and before you apply for a loan.  </div><div>
</div><div>It's great that you're paying off each month. You'll optimize your credit score if you're paying off/paying down to <$10 the balance before your statement cuts, instead of paying in full when you get the statement.  (not saying this is what you're doing, just putting it out there for you and other lurkers)</div><div>

• Morning ladies! I have to get bloodwork soon, so I tried to sleep as long as I can because it is fasting bloodwork and I usually eat before now. I think I will try to get a pedicure today, because I need one badly. Hopefully I get some cleaning done because tomorrow morning I have to take 3 dogs to the vet tomorrow (Belle & Pumpkin, and MIL's dog) and it will just be myself and MIL taking them...should be fun. After that, we have my niece's birthday party, so I won't be able to get much done tomorrow.

• Morning ladies!

I have to work tonight (boo) because one of the girls at work is getting married today, so a bunch of people took it off and my boss asked me to cover.

Im supposed to meet up with some friends tonight at a club, lol.  My friend is turning 39 and wants to whoop it up.  Im not terribly excited about where we are going, but I am happy to go out.  I have not been out in months.

<div>Yep.  Your credit score is partially based on the % of credit that you're using.  Credit card companies report to the credit reporting agencies at the time they compile (cut) your statement each month.</div><div>
</div><div>So.  If you have a $1000 limit on your card, and you charge $700 and pay it off as soon as you get the credit card statement, the credit reporting agencies "see" that you have used 70% of your limit.  In the same situation, if you pay the $700 off the week before you get your statement, the credit reporting agency "sees" that you have a lot of available credit, and that reflects favorably on you.</div><div>
</div><div>There's a lot of speculation among people who follow/play with this sort of thing as to a "magic" percentage of credit utilization (amount you owe/limit) to show that you're USING the card, instead of having a 0 balance report all the time.  Some people recommend leaving a dollar or two on the card just to show this. Some recommend leaving a % of the limit on the card (I've heard anything less than 9%).  General consensus is that over all of your credit cards, no more than 30% (total) of your limit should show on your statements, with some cards reporting $0 to give you the best score.  </div><div>
</div><div>If you're interested in this sort of thing, the forums at myfico.com have a ton of people who pay a lot more attention to this stuff than I do and know specifics for what cards report when, and what cards don't report limits versus those that do and all that.  </div>
• Thanks, Pirate.  I had never heard that before, but it makes perfect sense.
• That was really helpful for me too Pirate. I got myself in some ...difficulties in college and I just now have two credit cards again. I have been leaving about $10 on each but I was pretty split between paying it off right after I made the charge (usually with wedding stuff) or paying it when I got the bill.

• No problem.  And really, all of that only matters if you're about to apply for something.  Otherwise, just pay stuff on time and you're fine.
• I actually didn't have any credit cards in college.  So when I got one after graduation I was dead set on improving my score as much as possible as quickly as possible because I needed (really) a new (to me) car.  I studied up on all this stuff then and have kind of passively used the info since we bought out house last year.
