Rehearsal Dinner

Do you ladies know what you are doing for the rehearsal? FMIL is paying for it and said it is up to FI and I where we want to have it. We are planning to invite parents, my grandpa, the priest, readers, and the bridal party + SOs. This adds up to 33 people. I feel awkward choosing an expensive restaurant for this many people since we are not paying for it. I thought about suggesting getting a local BBQ place to cater, but I'm kindof torn.

Re: Rehearsal Dinner

  • We're having a local taco truck cater our RD at our rehearsal area in another room, though we did consider BBQ. There is already going to be a big fancy dinner the next night, so we wanted to do something simple and fun for the RD. We're also at around 30 people.

  • We're not actually having a rehearsal, so this is more like a night before dinner.  FI's parents are paying and they also asked us to pick a place.  We're going to this place: http://azoreanrestaurant.com/

They can either choose to have us order a la carte, or they can choose to have specific items out.  We could even do a tapas dinner, it's up to his parents and they haven't decided yet.

It's going to be 11 of us in total: us, both sets of parents, FI's sister and her husband, my man of honor, and my grand father and his girlfriend.

  • FIL's are hosting. They didn't want anything too fancy since we are having a nice dinner at the reception. Our rehearsal dinner will be at Green Mill. The one in the same town as our church has a "party room" separate from the main restaurant. Will be around 30ish people.

  • We will be doing the RD at FI parents house and they said we can do either bbq hot dogs and hamburger with sides of potato salad, bake beans, veggie tray amd chips or spaghetti amd fish fry kinda thing. They said whatever FI wants. So of course he hasnt decided. We are inviting BP and OOT guest.
  • My future in law's contribution is the rehearsal dinner. She rented a nice banquet room at a restaurant for only 12 a person. We have 35 people.

  • As of now, we are having our RD catered in our church fellowship hall.  We thought it would be convienient.  We are looking to have about 50 people.  FI has extended the dinner invite to OOT family.
  • We are doing it at the church as well. They have a lot of space for it... we will have around 35-40 people. And we are just having Skyline cater. lol Cause everyone around here loves Skyline. ;) Super cheap, laid back, and delicious

  • We wanted to do our dinner at Dave & Busters, since it's where we had our first date and where we went the night we got engaged.  But, since we have a lot of people involved in the wedding, we're looking at 50 people, and that didn't fly with my future in-laws.

So, we're going to rent a park pavilion and cater in something like Famous Daves.  We can have lawn games set up, and there's lots of space for the kids to run around.
