Center Stones

Isn't it interesting how many of us don't have diamonds for center stones?  I'd like to hear the stories!

Mine is a green amethyst.  Green is my favorite color, and I don't necessarily have anything against diamonds, I just fell in love with this ring.

    The ring that I am wearing now: Center stone is an oval 5mm x 4mm aquarmine, very light color, the side stones are diamonds that equal to 1/2ct set in white gold

    FI and I call this my promise ring, he proposed with it but since we have been engaged so long he decided to propose again a few months ago

    That ring: the center is also aquarmine- round cut 7mm cushioned with 1.14ct diamonds also set in white gold. 

    I love them both, the newer one is at the jewelers right now so they can make a band to go with it.

    MrsK - Thanks!!  I love your ring too.  I adore pave settings (which yours looks to be).  Mine will look pave when I add the wedding bands. 

    Lissa - Ovals are gorgeous.  My mother loves them so everytime I see an opal I get a happy "mommy" feeling.  I would love to see a picture of your ring(s)

    Nikisha, your ring is gorgeous...I noticed it last night when I was on my home computer (my work computer doesn't show the signature pictures).

    Lissa, my center stone is morganite, which is basically the pink version of an aquamarine. They're both the same type of stone.

    Years ago I lived a few blocks away from the jeweler we use, and I stopped in to check them out. I saw a necklace with a morganite pendant when I was there...it was so pretty that I decided right then and there that it would make a perfect center stone for an engagement ring. I love diamond rings, but I loved the idea of having a colored center stone, so I got the morganite center, and a halo setting with diamonds.

    Edit: MrsK, our settings look very similar. When I saw your signature, I did a double take because it looks so close to mine.

    Nikisha I love my oval and will always cherish it. It was the ring that made me cry (in a good way) but I do love the new one.

    I don't think it is, would it say it on the inside of the band?  but no I don't think so.

    I love yours Nikisha, and I love the fact that people are starting to add color to their e-rings.  Diamonds are great but gemstones can express your personality much better.

    Yeah, they're stamped on the inside of the band (or engraved, I guess). It reminds me of of a Tacori setting, from the picture...but regardless of who made it, it's lovely.

    My centre stone is diamond, but I have amethysts along the band in the pave setting :)
