If H get's deployed before our wedding, can I legally get out of any contracts I sign??

There is a unit that is getting deployed soon (they are on "hold" or whatever it is called just waiting to hear an actual date for deployment). He isn't in the unit but some of the men higher up want him to go (and have the authority to have him go). If he finds out he has to go before our wedding date, am I stuck with contracts? Or do orders null all contracts?

Did you get clauses in your contracts saying you could move the date if your H gets deployed? AKA Military contracts? If not, then it is up to each individual vendor whether or not they will allow you to break/breech the contract.

Make sure you get a military clause in all of your contracts. That way if he does get deployed your vendors will work with you to get another date, or give you your money back.  More often it'll be to give you another date..  If your vendor has a problem with putting a military clause in your contract, they are clearly not the vedore for you!! Find vendors that have no problem with doing this, because it's a very real possibility!

Agree with Sami.  My niece was "supposed" to get married in NOV, prior to her FI's deployment.  Deployment got cancelled but the Army is sending him somewhere else and earlier.  I had advised BIL and SIL to put a clause in the contracts just for this reason.  All of their vendors were more than happy to accomodate them and we are just a few weeks out from the wedding now.

Yeah it is very important to get that clause in there - we have to put it in for weather and MIl. So if you signed without it then you are going to have to talk to each vendor specifically. I would try to explain the situation also to his chain of command. Sometimes they can get back over for things like weddings, babies being born, etc. if they know about it far enough in advanced. It isnt a set thing, But they can also not leave with the group if they are deploying right before the wedding date and then catch up with the unit. I know multiple people who have done all of these things. It might mean no honeymoon etc. but sit down talk to your FI and figure out what you can do. If you cant do anything go see your vendors. Explain the situation and even say you don't want to fully cancel, but possibly just move your date and deposit to the next possible time for both of you. It may mean you don't get a day your to fond of or a time of year that you weren't looking at, but then you may not lose your deposit.

Thanks! I'll make sure to get the clause in my contracts.

Two words = Military Clause! Our venue suggested it to us which is one of the reasons they won out over the other spots we were looking at.
