The new addition to our family, Turbodog. He's a chihuahua and Yorkie mix. Since my digital camera batteries are dead, I only have this one crappy iPhone picture. He's awesomesauce and so sweet. I can't stop mooning over him.

Thanks! FI and I had been thinking about getting a cat, and preparing for another animal, for the past few months. But when I saw him, I abandoned the cat idea because I could no longer live my life without taking this dog home. I'm such a sucker.

I had to stop at the grocery store after I took him to the vet today, and I was honestly kind of scared someone was going to break into my car and steal him while I was in there. If he weren't mine, I'd probably steal him too.

He's a pound and a half, as of today when the vet weighed him. I don't think he'll get bigger than 6 or 7 lbs.

So cute! FI and I can't wait to get a dog, and I would love to get a little dog like a chihuahua or a yorkie (or a mix--perfect!), but he wants something like a Great Dane. I think a compromise will be in order there. :-)

Thanks. Fun fact: Great Danes make excellent apartment dogs. Even though they're huge, they don't need tons of room to run around. I also have a boxer mix and she weighs about 50 lbs. Big dogs are fun too.

That was actually his main point in wanting a Great Dane. It just makes me so sad that their life expectancy is so much shorter than small and medium dogs, otherwise I'd be totally on board with it. I also like boxers and Newfoundlands, and we've talked about getting a rescue greyhound when we have a little more room (who also are great apartment dogs--I was really surprised to learn they are pretty lazy dogs!).

I think we've determined we are going to wait until we have a house before we get a dog, but seeing pictures like yours make it really hard to resist.

My sister adopted a greyhound. She was freakin awesome! And, yes, they are couch potatoes. I highly recommend adopting one, they are beautiful and super sweet.
