David's Bridal, Wendy's Bridal

I am going dress shopping in Columbus on Friday. I wasn't sure if David's Bridal wants you to have an appointment or not. Anyone know? Also, Wendy's opens the earliest. Suggestions on whether or not I should go there first and what their prices are?
Thanks!

I didn't go to David's Bridal, but I'm pretty sure you need an appointment. As for Wendy's, you will get lots of mixed reviews on here. I had a great experience there and ended up getting my dress there. I think they have a pretty wide range of prices. I didn't want to spend more than $1000 and my consultant didn't bring me anything that was more than that. I ended up getting my dress for $695. (I put links below.)

I had a great experience at Wendy's Bridal. Lil was my associate. She is an older lady, but still dresses very classy and chic. She was a great fit for me because I have similar tastes. I think that is what made it such a successful shopping experience.  I think I tried on seven dresses.  She took my feedback of what I liked / did not like.  And nothing I tried on was out of my price range, but I was very specific about how much I would spend.

I believe that David's Bridal highly recommends you make an appt. I think it is required at Wendy's if you want a consultant to help you. But I think you can just go in there and browse if you want.

Like pp's said, you will get mixed reviews on here. I have heard both good and bad. David's Bridal on Sawmill was okay, but you don't usually get as personal of service/attention as you do at some of the smaller boutiques/gown shops. The lady at DB was helpful, I just didn't find "the dress."

I stopped in Wendy's just to browse as they were closing, but did not go back simply b/c I had already narrowed it down to a few dresses I had found at Alan Ray Bridal.

    Good luck and have fun!

I ended up getting my dress at Wendy's Bridal. I had a great experience! I made my appointment for first thing in the morning. The dress I ended up getting was out of my price range by just a little, but that wasn't my consultant's fault. My bridesmaid pulled it and I really loved it so I tried it on. I actually met with a gal named Wendy and she was really nice! I even went in a couple weeks ago to try the dress on for my Mom (long story, but she wasn't there when I bought the dress!) They were so nice and fit me in so I could put the dress on for my Mom. They didn't make me feel like a burden or anything. I am excited to go in for my first fitting in December! If you do call and make an appt., ask for Wendy. She was super fun to work with :)

I went to David's without an appointment and they were not very helpful. When I had an appointment they were great. I got my dress from Trumpington Bridal House in Westerville and was pleasantly surprised how many dresses they had in my price range ($750 or below). You need an appointment there and they are open limited hours. I know many of the girls who work there, because they went to high school with my brother. There is another little store uptown Westerville (literally right down the street) called Bella Laccio Bridal House. I have never been in, but it looks cute and they are close.

Oh, I hated David's Bridal. Avoid at all costs!

I also worked with Lil at Wendy's and she found me my dream dress!  I went to both on the same day.  There is an Alfred Angelo's right there too, which is where I ended up doing my BM dresses.

I went to both Wendy's and David's on the same day and definitely had a better experience at Wendy's.  I would highly recommend making an appointment if you can, it just ensures you personal attention.  I found a great dress at Wendy's for under $1000.  Happy Shopping!

I worked with Lila at Wendy's and she is great! I've actually had two appointments and still have not purchased and she has not put any pressure on me. She gave me time and attention just like if I bought the dress. The prices seem to be reasonable and I pretty sure I will be buying my dress from there. I would recommend an appointment although it hasn't been too busy the times I was in there.

I bought my dress from Davids.  I never had an appointment.  If they are not busy they will take you in, but each bridal consultant can only have 2 clients at a time.  If ou go during early morning when most people are working you should be ok. If they are busy you can always look and then just book an appointment.

I got my dress on Friday!!! You were right...I went to Wendy's Bridal and some other places. I ended up getting my dress at Wendy's and I had Lil! :) She actually picked my dress. She asked me about it and if I would try it on. I ended up loving it and I bought it! :)
