Mad Libs ?

Hey all! Hope everyone is having a good Thursday!

Quick question: FI & I are thinking of having a Mad Libs guest book. We're thinking of having pens at the tables & putting the Mad Libs on top of their plate settings.

Need some opinions on the best way to let our guests know this is our guest book & where they should put the completed ones.

I don't think you need to blatantly say "guest book." Not everyone signs a typical guest book so I think people who would sign a guest book would participate in this just the same. Just have them near the escort card table. I'd just make a box with a slit in it and make a cute little sign. Or have one of those sticky photo albums for people to insert it into with a sign. Your MC could mention where to put them as well.

I would probably put something in a frame on the table so they read it and know what to do. Otherwise they might get bored and start doodling on it (I probably would)

You could also have big glass container on the same table as the mad libs. Fill out a couple dummies (and mark them so you toss them when you go through them) and put them in the containers. That way people will know what they are supposed to do.

Heads up though, FI's cousin did this at his wedding. As people got more intoxicated, the mad libs got less cute/funny and more dirty/innapropriate. They ended up tossing several.

We are doing Mad Libs (Advice for the Couple style) too but we will have them in little stationary holders that I'm painting myself. There is a spot for the cards and pencils. They will be in our cocktail area so people have something to do while mingling or waiting for their drink

I don't have advice for how to do this, but I love this idea! But I agree that it may get a little inappropriate the later the night goes on.

I love this idea and think having your DJ mention where they should put them would be enough. This is coming from someone who does holiday mad libs with my family every year though. At first everyone thought I was crazy, but now it's like "ok lets do one more before we have to leave" we just crack up when I read them back to everyone.... So much fun

We are thinking of doing mad libs also, when I googled ideas it seems what everyone put about having it set aside like a 'guest book' with a frame that gives directions.

And, as for the inappropriateness later in the night... all the more fun right!?! Your friends will likely only get as inappropriate as you expect them to... they are YOUR FRIENDS haha!! I am really looking forward to seeing the whole thing, sweet/cute things family/older generation will write, and crazy/inappropriate things I KNOW some of our friends will write haha!
