Vent:::Photographer Frustrations

Ok, I need some knottie advice...  I've narrowed down my photographers to Gregory Paul and Sara Kauss.  I love both of their work, but have been completely obsessed with Gregory Paul's photography since I got engaged.  I'm thinking that both of their quotes will end up being fairly close, howeverrrrr, Gregory Paul's wife keeps pushing off giving me a quote, and it's getting pretty frustrating.

Bryan and I met with her last Thursday when we were in FL.  She was 30 mins late for the appt., which is obviously totally forgivable because of traffic, except for the fact that she promised us a quote right away.  It's late Tuesday night, and still no quote.  I've emailed her twice over the weekend, and she responded each time promising me a quote ASAP.  She spoke with Bryan on the phone, told him that she'd get a quote over no later than early this morning, and then called me this morning and said she'd get it over no later than this afternoon.  Is this normal?  Does she usually take forever to get back to you? (any G.P. brides).

I love GP's work, and would totally be going with them, but Bryan's getting mad because they've been posting tons of blog posts (which are gorgeous, btw!), but still haven't spent 5 minutes to email us over a quote.  I'm hoping that this is just a strange, out-of-the-ordinary circumstance for her, but I'm not sure how reliable she is with communication.  Have any G.P. brides noticed this or should I try to convince my fiance to forgive and forget?

Also, we totally clicked with Sara and think she's amazing, so it's even making it harder on our decision, since I initially was deadset on GP, but now I'm not so sure.

Thanks for letting me vent and sorry it was so long!  Any input from GP brides or anyone else would be greatly appreciated!

xoxo
Remy

Oh my dear, im so sorry to hear your going through this. In my opinion customer service is extremely important, but at the same time Ive seen GP's work and it is amazing! Also a lot of girls here have had him and from what im aware of, theyve been very pleased with him.

On the other hand if you really clicked with the other photog and theyve been great, i think that says a lot.

You might want to write a list of all the pros and cons and see how that works. Or just call GP's FI and let her know whats important to you and that you want to make a deceision within the next few days. Hopefully you get this resolved soon. GL!

I am not officially a GP bride but I can tell you that this man is a the magician of phtoography!!!! He's truly amazing. He did my epics and I couldn't be happier...they were not available to do my wedding though

I know they get really backed up sometimes with sending quotes and stuff but def, worth the wait in my opinion.  Heidi is the nicest lady you'll ever talk to also...I think they're just really busy. She handles all the administration stuff and greg handles the photos and blog stuff...HTH, GL :)

I <3 Sara Kauss!!! I am so in love with my pictures you have no idea. And Sara is so sweet, she and her assistant were really fun to hang around with when we were getting ready.  Sara got all the shots I was looking for and I really wish I had another excuse to have her take pictures for me lol!

As far as communication, Sara is on the ball (and she has assistants to help her with that too). She's also facebook friends with most of her clients (as it appears from comments on pictures & her wall) so it's incredibly easy to get a hold of her and see her work on a week-to-week basis.

I have GP on my Google Reader and his pictures are fantastic too, so I'm sure you have a tough decision ahead of you. GL!

I'm a GP bride and I love him.  I know last week they were slammed and it took a day or two to get back to me about setting up a location for our second round of epics this weekend.  With my experience they got back to us (I think) about 2 days with quotes but it may have also been because we are using Letti and she's pretty good at getting fast results.

If you do really love them I would just contact Heidi and tell her that you are getting frustrated with how long this is taking to get a quote.  She's super nice and I think will be totally understanding so it may speed them up.  I would get frustrated too if I was waiting almost a week for a quote.

I'm a Gregory Paul bride, and I love Heidi to death. I've never spent nearly an hour on the phone with a vendor talking all things wedding like we were bffs (okay, maybe Jackie Ohh, but hey lol).

They took a bit to give me a quote but that's because my situation was different.

I say (and I'm biased so take this with a grain of salt), stick with them because you will not regret it. Gregory and Heidi are the most amazingly nice people I've met during my planning process and I am extremely confident they will exceed my expectations on my big day.

Plus Greg & Craig get along how Heidi & I do lol.

Thanks for all the advice girlies!  Heidi got back to me with a quote this morning, so now we're just working with our planner, Jennifer, about it all.  :)

I'll let you all know who I go with :)

I had the same experience and I moved on... It worked out though because, although they have amazing photography, I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to go with GP's style. So I didn't really chase for the quote either, it just never came.
