Where did you get your man's wedding band?

I'm ready to pick out my fiance's titanium wedding band and wanted to know where some of my fellow Knotties went to get theirs. What kind of experience did you have?

I ordered my sweetie's engagement ring (black ceramic) and wedding band (ported titanium ring) from www.Tanga.com. got them each for just over $10! And he is super happy with both of them :)

We looked a Shane's where my E-Ring & Wedding Band Set came from and he had picked out a white gold band.  Then a girl from work told me about this jewelry in Newnan.  THey had a huge selected and we ended up getting a white tungston ring for him 1/3 of the price of the white gold ring.  Most of the tungston rings we had seen were darker and I didnt like that, I wanted our colors to match, but it was a new metal that is scratch free and no maint.  perfect for my FI.  I am very happy we found them.  His ring is suposed to be in soon.

Shane Co.   They have recently introduced a new line of very reasonably priced men's bands (they are actually Cobalt).  I love the fact there are several locations around Atlanta and their lifetime warranty, etc.

We're getting ours from Soloman Bros. in Buckhead.  He got my engagement ring there, and we had an excellent experience picking it out so we are definitely going back for our wedding bands.

We did make the mistake of walking into D. Gellar and Son in Smyrna.  It was terrible.  We just wanted to browse and look at men's Tacori bands.  Not only did they only have 1 in stock to look at, but once they found out my e-ring came from Soloman, they tried to pressure us into buying mine there.  The guy literally said "I just love it when we take business away from Soloman Bros".  All he cared about was making a sale, not making the customer happy... it was awful and we basically just walked out.

Soloman has tons of selection at all price points.  Plus, there's no pressure at all.  We've been back several times just to browse and it's always a pleasant experience.

Ugh. That sounds like an awful shopping experience at D. Gellar. And what's even worse is that I've heard the exact same story from other folks. I'm going to avoid them at all costs!

I wanted something custom on my FI's wedding band. Titanium Era was the only company that was willing to do it for under $100. What I had done was 4 words in gaelic engraved on the outside.

Have you been to the America's Mart off of Spring St.?  (http://www.americasmart.com/)

They have a floor that's entirely dedicated to jewelers selling wholasale, literally like 50 shops all in one.  I found very custom looking rings at Treasures (http://www.treasuresinternational.com/) and Luxor has promised to be able to make ANYTHING custom (they make all of their jewelry) and for a decent price given the cost of gold.  To see any of the vendors, you just call Treasures, for example, say you're coming in on some weekday (they're not open on weekends, but they ARE open the day after Thanksgiving and during the holidays), bringing X number of guests, and then you have a pass to see all 50 vendors during your shopping spree.

My fiance teaches Greek and Latin, so he wants something ornate but antique looking, which is why we're looking into custom pieces, like filligreed yellow gold.  I got his engagement ring from a pawn shop of all places (and there are good ones in Atlanta)

My FI got my original engagement ring at Solomon Bros, but you can get so much more at other places for so much less!!

So about a year later I went to Luxor in America's Mart (referenced in PP)... I gave him my original engagement ring, described to him the engagement ring and wedding rings of my dreams and he made them all for me!
We also bought my Fi's ring there -- its Tugsten, which doesn't scratch, he's really hard on his stuff so we figured it was the best choice!
I can't pronounce his name so me and my Fi call him Jacob the Jewler! ha!

We got his (read: are getting, it's ordered, haha) from Marks & Morgan at the mall. They have a really cool tungsten carbide one with an inlay that fits him perfectly. He's REALLY into cars and wanted something a bit different. It was very reasonably priced and the lady that helped us was super helpful. We were in Douglasville then.

Personally I don't like the "big name" shops because I feel like a commision. I realize I probably am ANYWHERE we go - BUT I don't want it to feel that way! Good luck you will find it!
