Dogs in Wedding

ok - SD dog lovers. Anyone have or are planning ot have their dogs in the wedding? I would really really really love to have ours in the wedding but I'm not sure it would work out in a way that I would be stressed out. Also, I am so so so sad to leave them for the honeymoon so I think saying goodbye at the reception might be really hard. Thoughts?

  • Girl, you and I must be on the same wavelength or something! FI and I definitely want our little girl to be in the wedding. We may ask someone in our BP to attend to her, or we may try something like this:

Scroll to the bottom of the page. It sounds perfect! I have not called and asked for more info, nor do I know anything about this company or this service... but it's worth investigating!

  • Haha- too funny. I think we need to go get drinks and talk about all of our wedding plans!

Thanks for sharing! I was thinking of calling an old trainer we used to see if she would do it but if there is a service for it even better. Shoot I think I should start that business up! Will def need to look into that one.

  • I would love to have our dog in the wedding, but she is way too hyper! I think we are going to put her in a dog hotel for the wedding weekend and then FI's brother will watch her for the honeymoon.

Here is a pic of her :) She is a puggle

  • Aww so cute!!!  I love the bow!

Have you tried Markim Pet Resort? Might be out of your way for where you live/work. We live Downtown but our jobs are in Carmel Valley so it's close to work. It's amazing there. We try to drop them off for daycare there about every other week so they can socialize. They play all day with other dogs. It's awesome becuase they are so tired when they get home. They have boarding too. The "crates" they are in are huge. Ours play every other day when they are boarding there so we know they aer getting out and having fun. They would go everyday but they need a day to rest! On days they aren't at camp, or if your dog isn't dog friendly, they let you choose how many times you want them to bring your dog out in a fenced in field to play. Each time is 20 minutes and potty breaks are separate from this play time. I can't say enough good things about that place. Our dogs get so happy to go there.

Here are mine :) Cody is the fluffy one- he's a schnoodle. Emma we aren't really sure- we adopted her beacuse she had been abused pretty bad :( We think she is ridgeback and something else.

I really wanted our dog in our wedding too, but when it comes down to the logistics and being practical it didn't work. Who is going to hold the dog before/during/after the cermeony? I would recommend having e-pics taken with your dog instead  :-)

  • Yeah lvissers I hear you and I definetly agree. There are some options to pay people to hire the dogs but I do think it might just add more stress. They truly are my kids so not to have them there will make me sad. I know the FI thinks we are better off not having them there but I just can't get myself to tell him ok to that. haha. Def a good idea to have them in the engagement pictures! We did and they came out amazing. Cody had a bow tie and Emma had an awesome flower that I found on etsy.com. They loved it.

  • I'm going to contact the sitting service sometime to check it out... if the price is right and I get a good vibe/like what they have to say, I will seriously consider it. FI and I really want our baby girl to be at the ceremony, but y'all are right - there are a lot of practical/logistical/safety issues. Will need to give it more thought. I will give you guys an update after I talk to the sitting service for sure.

We made sure to get some photos with our girl during our e-session and they came out great! I didn't think it would work out in our favor since we had our e-pics taken at Disneyland, but we just boarded her for the day at the Disney kennel... so when we wanted to take pics with her, all we had to do was walk to the kennel. :)

kay, your puppies are adorable! I would love to grab some drinks and talk wedding stuff sometime - maybe after you guys are done with the craziness of moving? Let me know!

  • Chels def let me know how your talk goes with the sitting service. And yes! Let's do drinks. This weekend will be crazy but after that the move should be done. I'm one of those- unpack as fast as possible people beacuse I hate clutter. haha
