Iberia Airlines?

I am looking for honeymoon flights and hotels and noticed that Iberia is the cheapest option (by $500). Does anyone have experience with them? We are going to Italy. I read some reviews online, but they are mostly foreigners that don't do English well. Just wanted to see if anyone here had flown with this airline....

Iberia's got a reputation for being pretty awful in terms of comfort and service, to be honest. That said, if they're significantly cheaper than anyone else, you may be willing to put up with a few hours of frustration.

I've flown with Iberia a few times from the U.S. and within Spain. They are not terrible, but some of their flight attendants are plain rude (and I speak Spanish fluently as well).

Honestly though, for a cheap flight, I would still fly with them. Just a heads up on their service.

Just to clarify, I think American's seat are pretty awful and uncomfortable so Iberia's are about the same and sometimes even better. As I'm sure Emily knows, the American flight from DFW to Santiago is just excruciating

Oh no. I just realized we will be using miles with American to either fly to Santiago or Buenos Aires. Ha.

Tati, if you can sleep I don't think it's that bad because it's overnight, so at least you're killing time by sleeping instead of just sitting there. Of course IF is the big question

Being able to drink your way through a trans-Atlantic flight is just about the most important thing ever. If given a choice between Iberia and any US airline, I'd go for Iberia. No joke.

Emily-- that's the thing. I never used to be able to sleep on public transportation, but after many times of taking an 8 hour overnight bus and then crashing at Madrid's airport a few times, I learned how to do it. Hopefully I will be okay.

Snippy-- very true about drinking on the flght. Red wine is enough to calm my nerves and help me pass out usually

I've flown with them many times to Spain. As others have mentioned, they're not the best pick for stellar service, but they're my pick when I want to fly direct to Madrid. I've never had any issues with them.
