When are you sending your invites/RSVP date??

I'm about to order my invitations, and I know you're not supposed to send them until closer to the date, but with it being Vegas and needing to know how many people I will have there to clearly know if I'm going to be spending $5000 or $8000 on dinner/drinks I want to send them a bit early. Just wondering what all of you did or are doing. Also how far before the wedding did you or will you make the RSVP date? I wanted to do like RSVP 2 months ahead, but I need opinions!
Thanks so much :)

We sent our save the date's 10 months out and intended to send invites at six months but it's looking like five before they'll be received.

I sent save the dates at 12 months. Do you know when you will set the RSVP date?

I also sent my STD's at the 12 month mark and we are sending out our invites next month (Feb) and setting the RSVP for June for people wanting to be part of the group booking for airfares and July for everyone else. We are getting married the 21st of Sept. We might be in a different situation as all of our guests are coming from overseas so will definately have needed to make their minds up by June/July in order to book leave from work!

We're giving about 10 weeks to RSVP so we have time to plan things out with the venue.

We sent our STD's at 11 months and the invitations will go out last week of March, RSVP date is May 11, our wedding is June 11 and we need to give the final count to the Orleans on May 30 I believe.  I'm DIY'ing my invitations, they are pocketfolds. Just ordered the last cardstock for them today and will be ordering the RSVP postcards from Vistaprint tomorrow.

I think the guests will have 8 weeks to RSVP, and then we will call who we don't hear from after the RSVP date.

We sent STDs out at 9 months.  Invitations are going out at 3.5 months, RSVP date is 6 weeks before the wedding.  Its a bit closer than some of the others, but all of our guests are either from AZ or IL, and we already know all of the IL people are coming and have booked airfare, and the AZ guests are so close that we are giving them a closer deadline.

Us and our guests are all travelling from the UK and Australia. I sent Save the Dates out at the 14 month mark and invitations 5 months before, with a 3 month before RSVP cut off.
Everyone who is coming has RSVP'd within the deadline.
I completely understand you need to budget - we did too, and anyone who is not sure about their attendance 2 months before probably isnt going to make it for a destination wedding 8000 miles away!

We sent our STD's 14 months before and will be sending our invites 6 months before.
Our RSVP cut off date will be 2 months before Smile

STDs went 10 months out... and we are sending out invites in the next couple of weeks, with the RSVPs being due the 15th of March.  The only thing that I need definite numbers for is our catering for our cocktail reception... and I guess the ceremony but not too worried about going over the alloted guest limit.  We are coming from Indiana, so I have done most of my communicating already by word of mouth or email (what a wonderful invention) to keep track of what everyone is doing.

STDs went out at nine months out.  Invitations were sent at 8 weeks, RSVP date was set for 3 weeks out.  Honestly, asking for RSVPs any earlier than 4 weeks out is just asking for incorrect responses, it's hard for a lot of people to commit further than that.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. STD's went out at 8 months.    I think we'll send the invitations 10-12 weeks out (sometime in February) with a 4 week RSVP deadline.

ETA - our final count isn't due until 5 days before the wedding.  4 weeks gives us plenty of time to contact the people we haven't heard from after the deadline.

I'm glad to see that everyone else is sending there invites out  approx. 4 months in advance like myself.  We have actually gotten over a dozen RSVP's already (figured we would after the holidays) and we have not sent out the invites yet.
