ordered off line???

has anone orderd their dress online from a site called davidslove.com??

Re: ordered off line???

  • That is 100% a Chinese knock off site. What you order will not be what you get. The pictures they show are taken off of designers websites without their consent. Many designers have list on their websites of these sites who steal their dresses o pass off as their own Maggie Sottero, for instance, has a list. I'd advise you to check it out. Also, go to the Attire and Accessories page and read the sticky at the top about online ordering.

  • I read this and totally agree w/cnf's post.  Furthermore, I also think with a wedding dress there is really something about trying a dress on before you buy.  I'd be really nervous about that in general, not just the fact that its coming from China.

  • I would be very careful with ordering from those sites. You never know what you're going to get. This could be the most important dress of your life. I would opt to try on dresses just to be on the safe side.

  • I actually recently spoke with someone who ordered offline and said she is going through a hassle trying to get it fixed, she was never on TK and hasnt heard all the horror stories.  INow she's out $300, and still needs to go buy a dress.  Its not worth it, seriously, you dont realize the crap you get.

  • I was told that counterfeit dresses were being seized in customs and that the original designers were suing. Not sure if it's true, but it's not worth finding out.

  • I unfortunatly ordered from a dress from a chinese place and regret it.  They sent me a crap dress which didn't fit on me, but magically are the "correct" measurments when they measured it when they got it back.  I'm out $250.  DON'T DO IT!

I decided to try it out because I wanted a wedding dress, but didn't want to deal with David's Bridal because they are known for being money-grubbing... Well, now I wish I would have went to David's Bridal in the first place.

Each dress is handmade, but they use low-skilled tailors who do not know how to properly make dresses. And have you noticed that every single dress on the site has wonderful ratings? Not one bad review on the whole site. I should have realized that. I submitted a negative review regarding the dress I ordered, but they refuse to post it. I have submitted the review 3 times but to no avail.

Right now I'm going through hell trying to get a refund. The company's policy promises a full refund for any dress that has obvious defects due to the tailoring. I sent in pictures of my dress to them proving that the dress had obvious defects and they STILL would not give me a full refund. And their reasoning is because they cannot resell the dress... Um, that is not my concern and is against their company policy.

I am still dealing with this and it is such a headache. Especially because they don't have a phone number nor give out their physical address. You deal with them through email only. And since they are in China, you'll only hear from the in the middle of the night while you're asleep. So it takes days to get anywhere with them.

Also, they claim you can only return the dress via DHL express which costs $120 because "only DHL will delive to their address" but they shipped the wedding dress in a BAG via USPS! Not even in a box. And I paid $60 for shipping and the dress shipped from NY... It did not cost $60 to ship from NY.

To persuade you not to buy from them, here is a link to the horrid dress I ordered. It is next to the picture of the original dress I wanted. Basically, the dress they sent me is a cheaper, more comical version of what they advertised...

So please, learn from my mistakes. Don't order form ANY chinese companies.
  • OMG! One of my bridesmaid's just ordered a dress from this site  last saturday and was told last night it would be the first of April before it would get here, VIA UPS. My wedding is 4/26/13. I've contacted her and told her about these reviews. Hopefully it's not too late for her...
