Charity Party Favors

Has anyone wanted to give a donation to a charity in lieu of favors? If so, how did you incorporate it to be included in the reception? Is leaving a note on the table sufficient? Thank you!

My friend included a line at the bottom of the menu placed at each table setting. It read, "In lieu of favors, we have made a donation to the XYZ Foundation" (I don't recall what charity they chose). Everyone at the table commented about what a nice gesture it was. I think my fiance and I will end up doing the same thing, but I'd love to hear other ideas for passing the message along to guests as well.

My fiance and I are thinking of doing this as well.  We're still deciding on the charity but I'm hoping that wherever we donate will be able to send us some literature or maybe something small like buttons or pens that we'll then be able to make a table display out of.  If not I think a note on the table is sufficient.

almost every wedding i've been to has done a donation as a favor, they have usually had a little note at the table saying it. sometimes the charity will even give you something to put out on the tables. my friend did march of dimes and they sent a huge paper that we rolled like a scroll and had it on everyone plate when they sat.
might be worth it to ask if they have anything to give your guests or put out to inform them.

most charities will give you something - I've gotten bookmarks, seed packets and little scrolls.  Otherwise, I've seen a framed note at each table explaning where the donation went.
