Wedding Planning over the Holidays

This board is so slow. I finally have time to Knot and no one is on! Anyways, what wedding details are you working on over the holidays?  Are you taking a break and just concentrating on holiday related things? Are you on break from school and trying to get a bunch of wedding things done? (This is me..STDs, cake tasting, meeting with venue, finally finishing wedding website, DIY, etc) What are you working on?

I'm trying to get a ton done while on break. I had my first dress fitting, put together my invitations (stuffed envelopes and put stamps on as well), have been folding paper cranes like a crazy person (and will continue to do so the whole break), wrapping up all bridesmaid gifts, making bathroom baskets, prepping stuff for programs and escort cards, and just about anything else I can do while I'm home.

At the moment I am in the middle of invitation hell...I would like to get out soon.

The bridal shop called tonight and said that my dress is in...so I'm going to try it on tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that it will fit. The lady at the store was very snug w/her measuring tape. I'm hoping that all of these miles I've been running training for a marathon in June will help.

I was going to meet again w/the caterer...but I'm procrastinating. These invites are the top priority at the moment.Right after the new year I need to meet w/the caterer, the florist, and the Rev.

I'm still in the early stages of planning. Right now I'm researching tent rentals and caterers to get rough estimates of how much certain things are going to cost.

We are booking our venue in early January once the holiday craze dies down. Then we will have an "official" date!

We're Jewish so we don't celebrate Christmas, and since we've both been under a lot of stress with work and not seeing eachother, we decided to spend next weekend in Hilton Head which I'm super excited. I need a break from being overwhelmed with work and wedding plans!

We're going to work on some wedding stuff this weekend. Here are some things on my list:

    Shop for wedding bands
Pick out Ketubah (Jewish marriage license) and have our Rabbi review the hebrew text
Just ordered invites so will hopefully get proof to review next week
I know there's more, but I can't think right now...
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wow it looks like everyone is going to be getting a lot done!
Jendawn- have fun in HiltonHead! So Jealous!
clseale- why invitation hell? Just because it overall sucks or because something in particular is going wrong?
Navy- be sure to post pics of your parasols/table runner so we can see!!

Yeah...it's just a royal pain in the ass. I bought pre-cut cardstock from cards and pockets thinking that I could print on them. Not only can I not do it...but no printing company in Jax can either. SO...to make a long annoying story short, I'm now paying an extra $140 for new cardstock and for a professional printing company to print the invites. So much for budget invites.

They're turning out to be quite pretty though...I'll post a pic once they're done.

Well,  I was wanting to get a lot done before the new year.  I don't know if I'll get as far as I hoped.  Work is kind of slow but I'm still here so its not as easy to do stuff.

    -Deposit for flowers
-Scan in pics for cocktail hour video
    -Honeymoon reservations
-Figure out what I'm getting parents and BMs
-Hotel Blockings (parents spoke with them on Friday)
    -Transportation
    -Pick Flower girl dresses
    -Centerpiece Design
-Figure out our first song would be nice
    -Adam's wedding band
    -Photo Sharing card

I doubt I'll get it all done but hopefully a good chunk.  I have two weeks!

Gathering everything for centerpieces-we purchased all the vases, now we're just buying the orchids to submerge in water when I have 50% off coupons to Michales. Addressing envelopes and RSVPs because I think it's going to be the biggest pain, and maybe starting to print invites.

What professional printer are you using Clseale? I need to decide whether I am going to just have cards and pockets print my stuff or use someone in jax.
