  FIL's just sent ours out today for our May 5 wedding, but I think since most people know the where and when and usually all people attend, the invite is just a formality, I think maybe 3 weeks is acceptable.

  I have heard about a month's notice appropriate, however I am sure invitees will understand that you need to have a priest first! Just send them out as soon as you know if it's less than a month prior.

  I'm going to send mine out with the day-of itineraries, so probably a couple of weeks before the wedding.

Around here its usually a phonecall or email to the wedding party/family saying "Hey the rehersal is going to be ____________ at x time and then we are going _________ for dinner".

  This would be extremely conveninent since I'm already unsure of how to handle these!  My FIL's are paying for the party so, like the wedding invites, I am assuming the invite should come "from" them but I'll be the one actually creating and sending invites.  Would an evite be totally cheeseballs?  I kind of love the simplicity and I've had a rough time reaching my WP by email, though they always respond to evites!
