Fall/Winter Honeymoon on a Budget

I want to go on a honeymoon right after our wedding in fall or winter. We haven't perfected a time, because I can't find a venue that is right for us yet. Either way, we WILL be getting married next fall or winter, and I don't know what are the best budget friendly places to go during this time of the year. We want to go somewhere we have never been before-(no where inside the states, no place in mexico) and my FI insists on going to beaches. I want to do that too, I'm just scared it will go over our $3,000 budget, considering it's probably high season for most caribbean places. We want to go for 8 days 7 nights.

    Agreed with CMGr, cruises are very budget friendly. You have the choice to spend as much or as little once you are onboard. With a $3k budget, you can definitely afford to go to a lot of Caribbean islands (PR, DR, Cayman Islands, etc...) as long as you are not looking for a 5 star resort.

    If you are looking to travel in the fall or before Christmas, it's actually low season in the Caribbean. So, you should be able to find great deals then, as long as it isn't the week of Thanksgiving or the week of Christmas or New Years. Caribbean prices skyrocket from Christmas to around April.

    Mexico is super affordable that time of year. You can get a ton for your money and it is much more secluded and less crowded.

    since you have over a year i'd focus on the date, venue, food etc.. costs and then see if you have the same HM budget.
    so i'm assuming by 'fall or winter' you basically have a 6 month window for a possible HM date. that's tough. early december is pretty cheap while from the holidays on are far more expensive.
