Cake

I was wondering which is better a square wedding cake or a round one? I just can't chooose! I would like black ribbon on the bottom of each tier & either tiger lily's or star gazers on top. Let me know what you think! I have my cake appointment tomorrow. Thanks!

If your baker is good they will be able to make either shape look great! Something to keep in mind, depending on your cake budget, you can feed more people for less with a square cake then a round one. Personally I like the look of a square cake better!

I hope I don't confuse you more but we are doing a Hexagon! Fiance liked that it was unique looking

To me, square is more modern and round more romantic.

Who is cutting your cake? If your venue is more of a we just supply the place, you supply everything else and the cake isn't being cut by the caterer, a square cake is easier to cut to get the correct servings of cake out of it. If round cakes aren't cut correctly, then you can get a lot less servings than anticipated.

I personally went with square b/c I liked the look. Ours is going to be off centered with the flowers going the opposite way to make it looked balance.

I was looking through pictures and fell in love with a circle cake! I don't think you can go wrong either way though. If you are undecided, ask your FI his opinon

if ur using an actual ribbon around it wouldnt a circle be easier?

I think it really just depends on how you want it to look and how it is decorated. Some cakes look better square and some look better round. Choose your top 5 looks and designs and print them off get your FI's and BM's input as well to help. Then try to narrow down your top 5 to just 2 and then try to pick your favorite out of those 2. I like the look of both but the cake I happened to choose was round just because it had the design and look that I was going for it aslo went perfectly with my theme and colors as well.
