Floral Budget?

What is yours? I have $1200 in my budget set aside for flowers. Can I afford a florist or should I do my own? Guest list is 225, with 3-4 attendants on each side.

    What do you want to get out of that $1200?  Depending on what you want your florist to do for you (bouquets, bouts, centerpieces, ceremony arrangements, etc.) and how elaborate you are looking will depend on if you will fit within your budget.  I say you could get Wedding party flowers and some arrangements and/or simple centerpieces with your budget.

    It really depends on what kind of flowers you want.  I spent approx. $250 for all of mine, and that included my bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 4 corsages, 9 boutiniers.  But I used caranations and spider mums.  They looked beautiful!  But if you have your heart set on more expensive flowers you'll be paying a lot more, obviously.  $1200 is certainly a good number to work with though, you should have lots of options with that budget!  I used nikki rogers for my flowers, if you're interested:  nikki@lifeaccessonline.com

    I think our flowers were around $1800.  That included flowers for all the wedding party (4 on each side) and family plus centerpieces for 20 tables and two larger arrangements we first had at the church and then took to the reception.  I would look into Fresh Tendrils.  They can do A LOT for the $$ if you don't care about specific flowers.  There should be info in my bio. 

    I'd say you are 100% ok if you don't want centerpeices... you may need to go a little higher if you want flowers on each table though.  We did 1/2 square vases with all flowers and 1/2 hurricanes with flowers around the candle.  Should be pics in my bio.

    I would set up consultations with different florists.  I was amazed how diff. they all are!  The first florist I went to quoted me over $2000.  The last quoted me half that and I'm getting more expensive flowers.  I have 4 attendants on each side PLUS 2 flower girls and 3 ringbearers.  14 tables, and an outdoor ceremony to decorate.  All the corsages and bouts have orchids in them!  I couldn't believe it.

    Joey - your flowers were gorgeous! I am very excited right now. I sent Nikki an email and gave her an outline of what I would need. She replied quickly and said she thinks she can do everything I want and possibly come under budget. I am still waiting for a quote. It would be wonderful if she can do it, that will be one less thing I have to worry about.
