Hiya, sorry it took so long to get back, playing catch up at work is no fun when all you want to do is go back to HI lol
We stayed at Waimanalo Beach Cottages and I'd say book them NOW! They have cute little 1bdrm cottages, nothing super fancy, but the price and location can't be beat at all. Similar cottages run about 2500/wk and we paid 1100 after taxes for the whole week! UNHEARD of, lemme tell ya. It comes with a full kitchen which comes in sooo handy b/c most of your $$ will go to food otherwise and food is expensive. It's just far enough out of the way to where there will be ALMOST NO ONE on the beach at any given point in time and to get to town is about a 20-30min drive. Speed limit for pretty much everywhere on the island is 45-50mph so be forewarned. Get GPS if one isn't in your phone. OH for your luau go to PCC (polyniesian cultural center) best show ever, skip Germaines, its good, but pcc is better. if you want any more reccommendations feel free to email me kmar_tinez72@yahoo.com :-)

The Waimanalo Beach Cottages sound exactly what we are looking for. We definitely want a kitchen that we can cook at and not have to eat out every single day. Good to know about the luau because I was just starting to resarch them and realized there are quite a few to pick from, so I will be taking your recommendation and go with the PCC luau.
